This liberty team is looking damn good right now. I dont know if its the level of competition they are playing or if it's there extremely tough schedule starting to pay off but I hope we come out with the same mindset we had vs UCLA and Washington because this team is not an easy run rule team.

Liberty is a pretty good team for one with a losing record. Great fielding, catching balls with that extra stretch. It was very obvious from the get go that their pitcher was hittable. The only problem was the waste of those hits with dumb base running. Oh well, I hope we're better prepared for tomorrow when they meet again. I predict O'Leary will be the pitcher for the second game.

Was reading up on the bio of Liberty's coach. Dot Richardson sounded familiar.

As a collegiate player, Richardson was a five-time All-American, earning AIAW All-America honors at Western Illinois and three All-America honors at UCLA. After transferring to UCLA from Western Illinois, she was recognized one year as an All-American by both organizations.

While at UCLA, Richardson helped the Bruins win their first of 11 NCAA national championships in 1982. She finished as a three-time Bruin softball team MVP and completed her career with a .349 batting average.

She helped Team USA win Olympic gold in Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000, hitting the game-winning home run in the gold medal game in 1996.

And although they are now 8-12, in the bio it states:
Liberty is one of just 13 NCAA Division I softball teams to win 40 or more games in 2017, 2018 and 2019, and is 13th in the nation with 135 wins over that three-year span.

And if twitter is correct, the game before they played Texas, they played against Texas state, run-ruled them 13-0 in a perfect game. No slouches!

I was reading the box score for the game and ran across a humorous nugget (highlighted by me)
