Bengals LB Malik Jefferson sues to collect on loss-of-value draft insurance policy

What is interesting is that this has been filed just days after the carrier filed suit in an Ohio federal court seeking declaratory judgment. I learned this when my curiosity took me to PACER.

The cases will very likely get combined, but the question is whether they remain in Ohio, where the first case was filed or whether Malik is fortunate enough to keep it in Austin (where he claims residency and, arguably, where the harm had been occurred while he was a Longhorn). He asserts, through counsel, that the Ohio suit was filed after a lengthy delay in the internal appeal process on the Policy so that the carrier could engage in 'forum shopping.'

I am guessing he has an extremely uphill battle unless he has someone with the various NFL teams who are willing to testilie that slide in draft position was solely attributable to the inability to fully participate in the combine activities.
