Mallett is a great young QB. Sucks for him that his coach coming in only knows how to run 1 kind of offense and that doesn't include him. I think he will do well at Arkansas but certainly this will put his development a bit behind. Hope he does well there and I guess we will see him in 2009.
Hornpharmmd, no offense, but this is the most uniformed post I have seen re: Mallett and Petrino. I don't think you understand that Petrino is not Rodriquez. CBP's version of the power spread and RR's option spread are world's apart. All one must do is look at Brian Brohm to understand Ryan will play under center and utilize multiple motion and WR sets that is highly "pro-style" in a myriad of ways. Should be a fun game in 2009. Sao, I think hornpharmd was being complimentary. He was saying RR is the one who only knows one kind of offense, and any time a QB transfers, the change itself naturally slows his development down a little.
Sao, no offense, but I think you misinterpreted hornpharm's post. The coach in question in his post is Rodriguez, not Petrino.
Allow me to sincerely apologize to hpmd. After reading once more I can see how this was intended for Fraudriquez and at the same time be somewhat ambiguous towards our incoming coach and scheme. My apologies again.
