Why did Barnes stick to Man defense the whole weekend? Our Zone defense was so good last year. I think our players could have been better served playing more zone this week especially our big men like Dex, it would have given the starters legs more rest and given the other team more to adjust to. Last year when we mixed defenses and sometimes mixed during possesions it was a thing of beauty. Now it just looks like we will gaurd you until someone misses a help assignment. Its early.
Because our man-to-man is generally really ******* good. Our offense is created by our defense... largely because our offense sucks. If we play zone we don't get as many steals and quick rebounds that lead to easy points. Sure, running some zone couldn't hurt, but the strength of this team is going to be its man-to-man defense and Barnes knows it.
