Couchon in NOLA serves multiple flavors. You can get a board of six shots and pick your flavors. Warning, the cinnamon goes down smooth and then blows the top o your scalp off about 3-4 seconds later.

There's some good ole boys that have some set ups out in back regions of Caddo Lake near Uncertain that make some good stuff that goes down smooth. It's hard to get though, but still cheaper than the store bought stuff. There are others that cut corners and produce some nasty pop-skull hooch.

The Underground bar at the Mob Museum in Las Vegas actually has a still producing corn 'shine. I've not done their add-on tour that describes the production, but I have had several samples of the stuff and shipped some home.

You can definitely taste the corn in it...has some kick as well.

Granted, moonshine produced in a sterile environment is not the same as stuff produced in the woods, but good is good LOL!

Growing up in Tennessee I had the opportunity to sample some homemade shine on occasion. Let's just say I wasn't a fan. It was like drinking rubbing alcohol.

Obviously not a good batch/producer...there are some in that line of work that are capable of producing some very filtered finished product that has the kick but without the nasty taste.
