Muschamp Turns Down Texas DC Offer

I’m ok with this. Would just be a 2 year stop-over and for Muschamp, anything less than HC at Texas probably isn’t what he wants.

 

From his HC record he could be described thusly:

"If you could buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth, you'd be rich."

 

Herman 2.0, or maybe Herman was Muschamp 2.0? Either way, happy to hear he won't be returning.

 

Still our HC in waiting. Just waiting elsewhere.

Yeah, Texas needs an engaged DC, not one sending out HC resumés.

If we were going to rehire I would take Greg Robinson first, but it’s my hope and expectation that he’s living comfortably and fishing or working on his golf game or whatever he enjoys.
Muschamp just feels like a re-tread at this point.

Well... he has just been **** canned from his last two head-coaching jobs & Will does seem to think an awful lot of himself. I’m sure that Texas DC as a position he formerly held probably feels like moving back in with mom and dad... his ego dictates the only thing he could do was turn it down.

Ash has done a great job. I know it is a stretch but I think most of our current staff deserve a look.

I agree keep Ash as DC. He was good! Keep defensive assistants that Ash wants. Sark knows what he needs on offense!

 

I haven't kept up with MC over at SC, but I don't hear of him being a "WOW" factor either.

 

If Ash is a buddy of Herman, you can't keep him. That never ends well.

 

If either of my children got fired and handed $10+ million, I would welcome them moving back in with me.

 

I read some more about Muschamp. Hadn't heard about him getting canned at SC in November. I also didn't realize what a crap program SC has had over the years:

Many years ago out on the interstate, I did see a car come by with a Univ. South Carolina bumper sticker That said "Gamecock Football - No One Can Lick Our Cocks."
