So Tulane was in the SEC back then
That must have been cool to have a NFL player as a coach?

Tulane was in the SEC from 1933 to 1965. He was our coach from 1971 thru my senior year 1973.........he still had a mean forearm 10 years after he quit playing as I remember him poping the blocking sled!

He was a good coach.......a little conservative offensively but he knew how to push our button to get us ready to play..........we won district senior year (1-AAA) but lost in 1st round to an all black team that was way to fast for us.

Love that football card of him... he looks mean and like he would hit really hard.

I also like the old Boston Patriot uniforms and the helmet with the sticker on the side of a revolutionary war soldier snapping a football !!
