Today, The University of Texas wins it's 15th National Championship in Men's Swimming & Diving!!!

Light the damn Tower!!!

Are you saying it won't be on the front page of the Chronicle or DMN?

 

A quick review of my edition of the DMN revealed no mention of the NC or baseball kicking ou again.

 

DMN - no mention of the NC in swimming, but buried on last page of sports section, list of college baseball scores: Texas 11 ou 6

 

The DMN has its uses - I use it to protect the garage floor when I'm staining a woodshop project.

 

Someone in Austin needs to post pictures from last night of tower.

 

Also a team photo at the pool or in front of the tower would really be cool to see - if anyone has access to them.

 

What about having the team dive into a blow-up pool from the top of the tower as it lights up?

 

I would argue Reese is the greatest coach, in any sport, in UT history. There are a few with bigger names (Royal, Conradt, etc.) but what he has accomplished - across five decades - is remarkable. He's on the short list of greatest college coaches, in any sport and at any school, ever.

 

Clearly Reese has built a Men's Swimming & Diving DYNASTY at The University of Texas!

 

I saw this late last night:

"AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM/AP) – Texas men's swimming and diving coach Eddie Reese is retiring after capping his 43rd season with the Longhorns by winning his 15th national championship. The 79-year-old Reese made the announcement Monday, March 29, two days after winning the NCAA title."

He's a great coach and 15 NCs is incredible. Sure hate to see him go, but at 79, I hope he lives a great life doing what he wants to each and every day. HOOK 'EM!!

Good question. Those are mighty big shoes to fill for whoever gets the nod.

If we can just embrace that UT is a swimming & diving school then we will restore our natural arrogance and sense of superiority and all will be well
