By far, the three best FB players growing up in my area were (names changed to protect the not-so-innocent) Richard, David, and Kevin.

Richard was a very good athlete with a great arm who went into junior high in all honors classes. He was the most popular kid in school. Dropped out of high school his junior year because of drugs. He's a bartender.

David was the biggest, strongest fastest kid there was in north dallas from 3rd grade through 7th grade. No one could touch his natural ability. At 5'8 now, he never grew after 7th grade. He got expelled his senior year. He's done real time, and tries to stay sober off the really hard stuff. Might be bi-polar.

Kevin was ripped like a man-child in 6th grade. He was average height, but fast as lightning with catlike moves. His older brother played varsity as a freshman. after 10th grade, he transferred schools and quit football. he did run track in high school so he was able to stick with athletics, but is 5'8.

I concede that being the kid of a professional athlete who's 6'4 is unique. But pre-pubescent sports is a complete crap shoot as it relates to high school performance, let alone college performance.
