Symbolism over substance. It is rampant among politicians of every stripe.

He is allowing his emotions to control his being.

Liberals still think those Catholic high school boys provoked that Native American back in the day.

The MAGA hat had to do with Obama not representing America as it is; the world leader. Instead he was overly collaborative, sucked up to the UN and was almost apologetic.

Liberals do not like the image of America that Conservatives value. They are misguided in their hatred of this.

Breaking the world down means we have two main problems: Russia and China. Europe is impotent. Name one other country that matters on the geopolitical stage. There is none.

Our strength and willingness to use it keeps Russia and China at bay to a certain extent. It's not my problem that a flower child doesn't like it.

Liberals are playing political social games with our country.

    Look at this:

White House Calls on OPEC to Increase Oil Production after Curtailing Domestic Drilling

"The White House called on OPEC and allies to produce more oil amid rising fuel costs, in a statement released on Wednesday.

Critics of the administration have pointed out that Biden curtailed domestic oil production — by shutting down the Keystone oil pipeline and implementing a moratorium on new oil and gas drilling leases — as one of his first acts in office, reducing U.S. control over oil supply and prices. The U.S. is currently producing about 11.2 million barrels of oil per day, compared with 13 million barrels during the Trump administration, according to Energy Information Administration data cited by Fox News."

So Biden panders to the Left locally and asks the Saudi's to open the tap. WTF?

Piss off for calling me emotional. They're friends. I love them. I don't talk politics with them. It makes me sad that they're blinded by a charlatan like many a good person is.

Also, Trump pulled every lever he could pull to get oil prices down. I'll take a lesson on the oil industry from some smart oil guy. But, it appears to an outsider that oil/gas prices were way more concerning to Trump than was US oil production.

Should I have said, visceral? You said it might you wince or had an internal reaction. That's emotional to me.

There are many tribes in this country who brainwash their children. I don't like it any more than you do. But the Left has decided to use the terms Nazi, White Supremacists and bashed the MAGA hat as a symbol of these evil people in order to intimidate white people into being Democrats.

    You are in that camp.

Calling people Nazi's used to be only for idiot extremists. Now it's mainstream because it works.

And the mainstream media makes sure that such actions are highlighted. Fortunately there are some of us dinosaurs who made sure their children understood the concepts of freedom and the dangers of socialism.

I've never owned a MAGA hat, and there was a pretty specific and logical reason why I voted for Trump in '20. I didn't enjoy it, but court-packing is a big no-no for me.

So lower prices is good for oil producers? Please elaborate.

That was a tweet level thought. He wanted competitive oil prices and low prices at the pump. He got what he asked for and states with economies dependent upon oil paid the price. He had to pressure Russia and Saudi Arabia to cut production as they had flooded the market. At one point during the glut oil was trading at negative.

I will be happy to be educated by non condescending, respectful folks with a background or knowledge of the industry. I haven’t been the benefit of that yet.

Lower cost for AMERICAN producers is good for America. Lower prices come from more supply. You live in the oil patch. The fact you would support killing American oil supply to allow Russian oil supply is baffling or a sign you can’t think for yourself.

Pray tell how me wanting relatively profitable oil prices for oil producers in Oklahoma and Texas translates to favoring Russian oil?

    You’ve got BDS.

Interesting predicament there Bubba, high price- low price ya gotta be allowed first to produce it, no? My how things change I have a daughter-in-law in the oil industry that was sweating out profit margins when it was down to under $40/barrel but now is sweating bullets over whether they can survive the shutdowns, ie, leases etc. Cheap oil was one thing, no oil is another story.

You do know Biden killed a pipeline in the US then helped one happen in Russia? It wasn’t reported on CNN so I’m guessing not.

No, but neither is paying an extra $9 a barrel to bring oil down because some railroad magnate is lining his pockets, as well as those of Democrat politicians by stopping the pipeline.

Anyone have an analysis over how many pipeline problems we've had in the last 60 years versus how many railroad accidents & derailments? Which is more likely and more hazardous?

As far as Russian oil, Putin is dangerously close to controlling over 30% of the world's oil, but that's ok since president dementia is going to put everyone in electric cars. I may have the last F150 or Expedition in the US, but I want my electricity cooling my house, keeping lights on, running my cable & TVs, but to hell with powering my vehicles.

If it's mythical, then why not shoot it down during the campaign? I'm not going to tolerate a politician getting cute about court packing either. Any answer other than "abso-fuckin-lutely not" is unacceptable.

I think you're referring to the pipeline that was being built to carry Canadian crude oil through the US on its way to China, correct?

That's what is funny. It's heavy crude...not compatible for our cars or nearly any use within the US. Those shipping containers though are essential to the US. Wait, isn't the rights position that they want less trade? Sounds like they should be for things that inhibit the shipping industry.

Biden shut it down for environmental reasons. The pipeline had only a temporary job impact 10k jobs to build it then ~100 to maintain the pipeline after built and refine it in Galveston. Like a lot of things, it made for good political fodder though for both the conservatives that care about oil (even if it's not our oil) and the environmentalists.

Last I read the oil coming from the Canada Tar Sands isn't generally coming through the US but rather heading over land to Vancouver, BC.
