Planned Parenthood (what a misnomer) should not be receiving any money from taxpayers in any form. Period
Agree 100%. If they are truly performing needed services they should be able to exist without governmental subsidies.
The Fairfax accuser has hired a DC law firm ("the same law firm that represented Christine Blasey Ford in her allegations against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh") Woman Alleging Sexual Assault By Virginia's Lt. Gov. Hires Washington Law Firm
There is some thick irony with this one in light of the fact that less than 48 hours ago, the WAPO just spent over $5M on a Super Bowl ad it used to lecture America about how important it thinks journalism is. Why? Because journalists KNOW things and let us KNOW things. How do we KNOW this? Bc Tom Hanks told us so So what do we now KNOW? Well, we now KNOW the WAPO's "journalists" KNEW things about a potentially credible sexual assault allegation against a Democrat, but sat on it. How do we account for this level of preening against the backdrop of this overt double standard?
I'm ignorant on this accusation. Has anyone actually come forward with the Fairfax allegation? Does anyone know her name, her story, specifics of the allegation, etc.?
Lets see if I have this straight....I get taxed, my tax dollars go to planned parenthood then they send my tax dollars to political campaigns I would never support? Thats ********!
Maybe we don't know the name because WAPO sat on the story? Do they have it but are not disclosing it? If so, it highlights JF's point. If not, maybe everyone should hold tight on Fairfax for now.
MrD My search brought up this Redstate link, Not exactly porn star. Dem?? Shouldn't she be believed?? "A woman named Vanessa Tyson, who is a fellow at Stanford University, says that a man who allegedly sexually assaulted her at the 2004 Democratic National Convention is now an office-holder about to get a “very big promotion,” according to a screenshot provided by a tipster. A friend of Tyson’s named Adria Scharf, based in Richmond, Virginia, shared the “heartbreaking” message, which Tyson wrote as a private post. Tyson is a fellow at California-based Stanford University and professor at California-based Scripps College, which means the alleged sexual assaulter must hold office on the East Coast. Tyson says her alleged attacker won statewide office in 2017." more at That Story on VA LT GOV Justin Fairfax's Alleged #MeToo Problem the WaPo Spiked Is Now Public Justin Fairfax was a John Kerry staffer in 2004, and won an election in 2017 in an East Coast state. Now, he is poised to become governor of Virginia if racist Ralph Northam resigns as Democratic leaders and his own state party demand.
Her name is in the article above Paragraph 2 " .... Vanessa Tyson claims Fairfax sexually assaulted her at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, MA, when the Lt. Gov. was a campaign staffer. Fairfax has denied the accusation, pointing out that The Washington Post was made aware of the accusation around the time Fairfax was inaugurated a year ago, but the outlet investigated the claim and declined to run it...."
Nope. That would be illegal. In reality, the tax dollars go toward women's health (mammograms, STD tests, etc.) which reportedly are ~98% of their services. Any political donations AND abortion procedures are funded separately by law.
I'll see your "nope" with another NOPE. That ~98% number is an accounting trick used to hide what they do. PP divides up the billing items when a woman comes in for an abortion. So in the process of giving a woman an abortion they categorize a large portion of what they do into a "non-abortion" category. It is dishonest and different than what is done in the medical industry as a whole. This comes from a former PP employee.
If you say so. That sounds like grounds for a lawsuit. I'm sure there are some conservative groups that would happily take up the cause.
So this is interesting -- While recent polling shows Virg Gov Northam's approval has fallen 41%, he still has a high in-state approval -- • 50% still support him • only 25% disapprove Has to make you wonder how our lovely national media would handle this if he were a Republican (note: despite what CNN says, he is not a Republican) Northam popularity drops 41 points amid blackface episode — but half of Democrats still back him
Feel the Bern with the old fake phone call trick - lol Dems all over DC are dodging questions about the accusations lodged against the black Lt Gov of Virginia Their leaders have not yet told them how to respond, thus they await their instructions in the form of scripts/talking points while hoping something quickly bumps this off the news cycle
We may need to change the title of thread. Vermont is trying to outdo NY ""Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry a pregnancy to term, give birth to a child, or to have an abortion," the bill reads in part. "A fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus shall not have independent rights under Vermont law."
Ha! Husker, if only that could happen. The problem is that conservative groups have been trying that for a while now and the people involved get charged with felonies. There is a case in CA where a guy is looking at 10+ for just showing the truth. PP is politically aligned and then you have to go in front of a government judge to plead your case.
Of course, then there’s the accounting allowance rules ... which facilitate the very dodge in the first place. Seems pretty simple ... if PP wasn’t getting taxpayer money, they couldn’t do as many abortions. Period. Lotta places to get “screenings” (btw, they refer the vast majority of these non-abortion services). There’s probably a portion of PP which is legitimately righteous ... it’s in the tiniest minority and that legitimate righteousness is available ELSEWHERE. The scam that is PP.
One noticeable difference with regard to this matter is that our biased media always referred to Christine Blasey Ford as "Dr. Blasey Ford." However, Vanessa Tyson, who also has a PhD, is not "Dr Tyson" so far at least. Maybe they will change that to eliminate the double standard?
