"The fastest LB at the #NFLCombine since 2003. Likely the fastest 40 by a LB since Rod Choate came out of Norman.
Serious question: how much does 40 speed matter for an O-lineman? If a guy is big, strong, has good technique, can’t he still be a solid OL without top end speed?
I thought same thing Dion, stupid drill for the OL BUT, they showed Tom Coughlin with a hand timer recording only the first ten yards and they said that is because he wants to chart how fast they can hit the second block. I learned something lol
Not all that much, I imagine. However, when you test significantly below your peer group in a job interview, and the coaches (hiring managers) are chewing you out for loafing, you have set yourself up for a lot of ridicule, not to mention a far smaller paycheck.
You might rmbr this guy Harrison started nine games for West Georgia (Div II) in 2017, his first game action since 2013. If the time stands, it would be the 3rd-fastest 40-time by an OL since 2006.
Mike Mayock skewered the entire Big 12 (except for us) for being "really hard to watch" and insinuating that NFL decision-makers believe it doesn't develop future NFL players as well as the other conferences.

Lots of rumors Baker Mayfield will go #1. After Colt had to endure the hellhole that is Cleveland football, it was good to see Johnny end up there as well. Wouldn't mind seeing Baker have to do that too.
That would be par for the course for Cleveland. I wouldn't dare by #1 money to someone with Mayfield's temperament.
I've never had the problems with Mayfield so many others have but going 1st shocks even me. Not the greatest value at that spot.
Jerry Jones strikes again. Everything I've heard says they could have traded down and gotten this guy 8 or 9 picks later.
I don't have any idea what goes through his mind, but I definitely think Jerah is one of those people who thinks he is a lot smarter than he really is.
I think Baker was the only top qb that would actually go to Cleveland....the others probably knew they could John Elway/Eli Manning-it and say (basically) "don't draft me because I'll never play for the Browns"....Baker and his agent probably realized he just needed to get in there and take the spot.
I'm actually more interested in the draft than actual games but the RB Barkley or DE Chubb would have been far and away the smarter pick. Mayfield would have been there at #4. Many mock drafts had him going at 11 to Miami.
What happened to Williams and Jefferson as mid to late first rounders? Jefferson I recall, was at one time a (very) later round one take, but Williams was a round 1 pick unless something changed. Thoughts?
