Apologies if this has already been posted in another thread NFL Draft & Combine Profile - Devin Duvernay | NFL.com
Seems like a 6.0 is pretty low. My rating of the NFL’s ability to assess talent would be in the “no grade” category.
8.0 - The perfect prospect 6.3-6.4 - Will be starter within first two seasons 6.1-6.2 - Good backup who could become starter 6.0 - Developmental traits-based prospect
I guess the perfect prospect is one who can leap a building in a single bound and is faster than a speeding locomotive.

Dev ran a 10.2 100 M in high school, most everyone is slower than him. Both will have long NFL careers.
Duverney is a ball player. Some team that knows how to really scout talent* will use a pick on him and they will be very wise for it. *Like the Patriots, not the Cowboys or Browns etc
When was the last time we had a player make such huge improvements to his game as Duvernay did from 2018-2019? Forget statistics, but route running, getting off the line, finding the hole in the zone, coming back to QB, making the tough back shoulder and sideline catches. Stanley Richards made huge advances but over a couple of years and mostly because he got moved to safety.
Actually, while his route running did improve every year he was here, I think it was more of the case of the game coming to Duvernay. Being in the slot also helped out immensely for Ehlinger finding Duvernay. Duvernay has always been excellent. LJH and CJ being tall and usually closer to the QB just meant he did not often have the opportunity to show his skills. Also, Ehlinger has made significant strides in 2019 in throwing the long ball accurately and with sufficient distance. Once Duvernay was at full speed 30 yds. downfield, only Buechele had the strength to get the ball too him in stride. And those plays were not in the playbook like they were in Sterlin's first year with Buechele and Burt.
He was always a fast guy who caught the ball well. Then his junior year he seemed to add all sorts of additional crisp routes to his repertoire, although he was still under the radar since he was #3 on the chart behind CJ and LJ. Then his senior year he added the Quan Cosby level-up and started running over defenders and shedding tacklers off his back. Not sure he'll be able to do that so well against NFL defenders, but he did noticeably get past Delpit in the open field a couple of times who is as close to NFL-ready as any college DB in the country.
I love Shane, but he doesn't have a strong arm, I'd probably say when it comes to arm strength neither Sam or Shane was setting the world on fire. The guy with the strongest arm on the team is Thompson he can toss the ball 50 yards without much effort. As for Duv, he has always been a great receiver, true he did improve on various aspects of his game over the years, but speed, hands, strength were always there.
These comments about Shane's arm strength always get me. His arm is better than Sam's. Go back and watch his freshman game against Notre Dame. He threw the ball all over the field. 50 yards with little effort?

I don't know, Sabre. I thought he looked great in "18, too and was screaming for them to get that ball to him more. He just wasn't utilized properly IMO.
Duvernay strengths: speed, running after the catch—including breaking the tackles of weaker CBs, sideline work/in-air acrobatics on the sideline. Duvernay weaknesses: undisciplined route running, height. Teams looking to add a speed burner at WR should give him a close look.
