Thanks for the kind words, friends. I was just following all the websites out there and distilling things as much as I could. But what a fantastic job by Charlie and staff to wade through all this confusion, and hold on to all the players. Newsome was really the prize I wanted. He was one that I thought we let go in the numbers crunch we were getting into. We have a kick returner, baby! Gettin flips from FSU, Oregon and UCLA to finish the class was just a phenomenal job of recruiting. Had Boyd messed around yesterday, you bet Charlie would have flipped Baker from Georgia too. I still have no idea how Vaughn held on to Boyd. Just no earthly idea. That guy was a serious risk to go to aggy.
Kirk is in. Reed just went to Arkansas. I assume we may have told him of Newsome coming in, and he would have seen that we are loaded at WR now (4 in this class). Great pickup for Arkansas.
Oh crap! Just remembered GREED is one of the Seven Deadly Sins. I am fully satisfied with this fine recruiting class. Well rounded. Fills areas of need. High quality. Builds a great reputation for future recruiting. Job well done.
Saw on one site that Chris Warren picked us using a coin flip!! One side Washington. One side UT. Don't, know. what. to. say.
UCLA is cleaning up though. Man, that dude Mora can recruit the hell out of everybody. The best recruiter out there, bar none. We may fall to #11 in the rivals rankings because of UCLA, but we should be top-8 or at least #9 on other rankings. But, in terms of filling the needs we had, this is about as good a class as I could have imagined.
"Longhorns landed 14 members of the ESPN Top 300 national players. Rest of Big 12 has 16." (B.Davis, AAS) How about that? And I thought Charlie was getting killed by that guy up the street and that other guy up in Fort Worth. Heck, even the guy up in the stolen land of trailer parks couldn't do much against Charlie.
LHN just reported that if the coin had come up tails Warren would have picked Washington. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!

By the way, Marcus Lewis, the DC area safety who was Locks' friend and added Texas in the list on the last day, just signed with FSU. As we got PJ Locke, no worries. Depth needs filled.
