- we got athletes making plays again like Ingram, Dicker, Sterns, the WR’s, etc.

- QB playing smart with no TO’s

- wow, John Burt with a key catch for a first down.

- toughness, it was apparent Texas was mentally more tough. OU had that fake aggressiveness that led to altercations after the whistle blew.

 

we should be 6-0

 

The Maryland game is there to keep us humble.

In the depths of my depression as I opined we may only beat Baylor and Kansas down the road, my last line was "Ok Tom, prove me wrong".
And he and the Horns did. Will gladly accept being wrong and eat my fair share of crow.
I never expected to score 48 without a defensive or ST score.

Sam's passing was better than I have ever seen.
The long ball to CJ in the first quarter was perfect.
But still needs improvement.
Hit Burt in stride and he's still running.
I'm glad we tried to give it away in the 4th quarter.

If we had to lose a game I'm glad it was Maryland. These past several weeks have been great.

 

Some in the media still throw shade at Texas. We just have to go 1-0 next week against Baylor. That game won’t be easy. Baylor is 4-2.
One week at a time, 1-0.

 

Just TH being TH this year. I still worry about these trap games. Beat the ranked teams and struggle to put away or beat weaker competition. Does that fall on the coaches or the players? Could have something special going on here or it could all go down the drain overlooking a weaker opponent. I loved Hager’s focus after the game, and I hope his teammates have the same mindset.

The really good news is that we won a HUGE game and there is plenty of room for improvement, which I’m sure the team will be told starting next week.
