Why is it okies are so defensive that when we talk about football and if any mention of money is made that they start pulling out the random links to random websites that say "okalhoma is such a wealthy state, per capita"? Or how "there are really more mobile homes in texas" rpongett's thread What causes this defense mechanism? Is this what the teach them in classes, how to make ou appear wealthier than it is.
I'd say "How to manufacture homes in your favor," but they's pull out that damn stat about Texas having more mobile homes than Oklahoma. I hate that stat.
Why? I broke it down per capita once and Oklahoma has a much greater amount of mobile homes per capita than Texas. China probably has nearly as many (if not more) people that are 6 feet tall than the United States. So?
Great, you had to question it. I see an Okie spouting 2000 census data about mobile homes in our near future.
If blowklahoma was mythical greece, what would Eris throw through the mobile home window and what would be the inscription? And for extra credit why would there be a crowd in the mobil home in the first place?
There's a difference between mobile homes that are used for camping and travel (Texas) and mobil homes that have their tires off and have 6 Okie throwbacks per room gathered around a 6" TV.
Yes, there is a difference. Unfortunatly for Texans, mobile homes used for recreational purposes were not included in the statistics.
Byzantine: You're correct only in that the "much" can be considered an exaggeration depending on your definition of the term. Oklahoma Housing Facts Oklahoma Quick Facts (including population) Texas Housing Facts Texas Quick Facts (including population) Now, using what they call math, one can determine from the above links that Texas has one mobile home for every 31.77 people. Meanwhile, Oklahoma has one mobile home for every 24.43 people. Even if we use the lower bound for the estimate for the number of Oklahoma trailers and the upper bound for the Texas estimate, the numbers are still 29.67 and 28.13, respectively.
The largest mobile home dealership in the world runs down I-35 south out of Austin and doesn't end until you get to San Antonio. That is one huge mobile home dealership down there.
As opposed to the entire state of Oklahoma? Byzantine - Wherever did you run off to? Do you need some help with that calculator?
He is trying to get a hold of a six year old in Texas to teach him how to use his calulator. The fact is I would rather live in a mobil home in Texas than live in a mansion in Oklahomo.
You would think that we could get together and agree that we both have an abundance of mobile homes in our respective states. This argument is kind of like Dan and Rosanne argueing about who should go on the diet first. Now on to more important things...our Roy Williams is better than yours.
For a first time user who just happened to be looking for tickets, I decided to login to make a little comment. I LIVE in Oklahoma, and yes, my sooner friends, in all of my life have I NEVER seen so many trailers in one little state such as this. Lots of them with used tires on top, with washing machines and dryers (no longer working, i suppose) thrown out in front, along with cars jacked up on blocks... Now, that's somethin' to be proud of, along with our turnpikes, bingo parlors, and, oh wait! OU Football!......arent we proud.... Far as the 63-14 thing goes........get over it, that's old news. Concentrate on making your school a Tier 1 university to match its "elite" football program. Hook Em'!!!
fada Oklahoma has 63 mobile homes for each 100 residents compared to 14 for Texas--really? Awesome use of stats. Go brush your tooth.
Bubba - Yeah, I know what you mean. I was done with the topic until one of your fellow Sooners decided to come on here and spout some ******** lie and hope nobody called him on it. Predictably, he has since disappeared.
Fox News reported last night Gary Condit's parents were part of the okie migrant movement to California. He and Switzer could have been best buds if the family had stayed on in okie land.
63-14, that's another stat from last year. Real original. I think you're looking for the Jeopardy thread. I'll take last years scores for $500 please.
Deaner, Ouch. That really hurts. What a comeback. Man that hurt my feelings. In fact I dont live in a mobile home... Okay I had to censor myself there. I dont know peoples situations and mother jokes are just downright wrong.
