Tonight at 8pm we play the Oklahoma Sooners. This time, we're bringing a full complement of our team, and we have our coach--who, alone, is worth 5-10 points. OU is neck and neck with us in the national rankings. (neck and neck with almost anything OU is a nasty thought...). I think we put it together tonight and take them down. We need a strong showing from our big guys inside and at least decent shooting. Our free throw % has improved in recent games, and that may come into play. Go Horns!
Horns and ou in a street fight. Horns are playing hard and making shots Sims playing great; Febres making his shots. Hope Brown is ok. He took a hard shot from a flailing Hamm.
The Horns hit at a high percentage. 61% Don’t think they will shoot 61% in the 2nd half. They did not make lazy dumb fouls and they did not turn it over!! If they play smart like this they’ll win even if their shooting % cools off.
Ou has decided to drive to the hoop. Texas players taking the bait and fouling. Ou is grabbing momentum.
Horns are playing like a different team this half. All dribble, no motion, no post offense, poor shot selection.
It's crazy how when things get tight and we pucker up everyone on the team goes into 1 on 1 mode on the offensive end.
$50 bet on OU 2nd half easiest bet ever, sadly. Id gladly trade the 50 bucks for a horns win, but i guess ill take the 150 im about to win.
Shaka watched the team lose the lead, lose momentum, lose energy, lose confidence. Did nothing to stop ou’s run. Finally calls time out. Hope he has the remedy for this meltdown.
Texas misses a wide open. Putback layup. Then misses a FT. This game should be 3 possession with under a min left.
It took a while, but finally with about four minutes left the Horn guards remembered Sims and fed him the ball down low.
Great win. Our talented team played hard, with guts and heart and took it to the sooners. Great win for this team. Congrats Horns!
Hopefully a win over TCU and a couple of wins in big 12 Tourny will get Texas a nice seed for the big dance.
Big victory on the road versus arch rival OU. Shaka out-coached fellow Top-15 Naismith coach of the year candidate Lon Kruger. Our team discipline and basketball intelligence (characteristics of Shaka’s teams) were on display as we closed out the game. Tight, tight D won the day.
