Saturday 2/6 at 2 pm CST on ABC tv. Finally we're back full strength and playing somebody other than Baylor (or Gonzaga). OSU is probably a legit 6 seed in the Big Dance, they're certainly good for a 7th seed at the very least, so they're no joke. Note: Oklahoma State is first in the "others receiving votes" category for the AP Top 25, so they are good. This is the sort of team we'll probably face in the 2nd round to get to the Sweet 16. In most conferences, this would be the 3rd or 4th best team. In the Big 12, they're around the 7th best. We beat them the first game, but it was closer than it should have been. TCU just beat them, so they're as down in the dumps as we have been lately. I think our D will smother them, block shots, and make steals, leading us to a hard-fought victory. Sims and crew have to continue to be tough and dominate down low and win the battle of the boards. We've also got to keep Cade Cunningham in check (18.2 ppg). Hopefully our guys have been working on their free throws. Cade Cunningham (G) 18.1 ppg 5.9 rpg Isaac likekele (G) 10.8 ppg 7.1 rpg Rondel Walker (G) 10.1 ppg 2.9 rpg Mathew-Alexander Moncrieffe (F) 9.7 ppg 5.5 rpg Avery Anderson III (G) 9.1 ppg 3.5 rpg Bryce Williams (G) 8.3 ppg 2.2 rpg Kalib Boone (F) 8.3 ppg 4.7 rpg Note--that's 7 guys averaging more than 8 points per game, so our D must remain mindful of every player on the court--they can all score. IMHO, this is probably the Pokes' greatest team strength--depth in scoring ability. Cade Cunningham -- this dude can shoot. Kai is the man of the hour thus far. Some mutual sloppiness by both teams. Tied up. Refs are calling it pretty tight. Both teams in the bonus with more than 11 minutes left in the first half.
Too many turnovers, missed dunks and fouls. I think a lot of our problems are unforced errors. On the other hand our defense is good enough to keep us in the game.
I don't know who was coaching the first half of the season but I know Shaka is back. Turnovers, four times in the first half we catch the ball while standing out of bounds, fouls, missed FTs, missed layups, no offensive flow and just jack up deep threes late in the shot clock. Mr. A.D. this is worse than football.
Are you telling me that they played sloppy and out of sync?^^^. Welp, that may have been the worst half all year. Frustrating to say the least. Also Coleman’s worst half
Sims cannot hit a two foot jumper. He just can’t. While Brown, whose body has been taken over by aliens unfamiliar with a round ball, continues struggle to figure out what he is supposed to do with it.
