Sam Houston State won their conference and are in the Tournament (for the first time in quite a while). And the cops and the teachers rejoice.
Xavier’s in Indiana State is in. While their RPI justifies a Regional Host, they may not get it due to some other factors working against them. We’ll see. Oregon is in.
IN— Campbell George Mason Maine Xavier Fullerton Wright State Penn Rider Ball State Indiana State E Illinois Oregon Army Sanford Nichols Santa Clara Oral Roberts Sam Houston (there’s the bulk of the 4 seeds, and some 3 seeds)
Last appearance 2017 so not that long. Lots of bigger schools have not been in longer than that. [Greater Tuna]Texas not included! Well alright.[/Greater Tuna]
Stillwater OSU gets a regional So does Terre Haute, Indiana — Indiana State. Dallas Baptist does NOT get a regional. They were robbed.
Here’s the 16 Regional host cites: (no particular order) Auburn LSU Virginia Clemson South Carolina Coastal Carolina Miami (FL) Arkansas Florida Kentucky Vanderbilt Stanford Oklahoma State Indiana State Alabama Wake Forest
Now that’s a real screw job against DBU. They were top 13 RPI. Their facilities are better than those at Indiana State, or Coastal Carolina. Total screw job.
I was hoping to attend one or more games at DBU if they got a Regional. Not this year. At least no one at DBU will dump beer on an opposing outfielder. Hello ECU.
I know Kentucky had a good RPI, but they were only 16-14 in conference play and lost the play-in game to get into the SEC tournament. Yes, I know it's the SEC SEC SEC, but 8 out 16 regional hosts? And yes, I know all Texas had to do was win a couple of games in their own conference tournament and couldn't manage even that. But Kentucky didn't even qualify for theirs. Perhaps DBU should have gotten their host spot.

They can't say it's DBU's stadium capacity... Indiana State Sycamores Bob Warn Field Capacity: less than 2,500 seats Location: outside the Tastee Freez in Terre Haute, IN
Sooooooooooooooooo Auburn is the team that really looks like it doesn’t belong as a Regional host -and- Auburn’s AD was the chairman of the committee that selected the regional hosts.
Have the regional hosts always been announced the night before the selection show? If so, why don't I remember that?
Our regional has Maine and Louisiana and if we get past that, we have Texas A&M, San Jose St., Stanford or Cal St. Fullerton waiting for us.
The bad news is that we are going to Convict Gables The worse news is that Joe's Stone Crab is closed for the season.
