Other WBB Games

USC-UCLA 18-33 combined on 3 pointers.
We"re 3-18 on3's the last two games.
A stat we will need to improve on if we are to stay in game with these likes.

Hard to say since Notre Dame beat USC yesterday by 13 pts. I think we will have our hands full when play Notre Dame on their home court.

So, will Texas bump up at least a spot in new rankings?
I don't think we move up... we haven't played anybody. IMO Notre Dame and UCLA both SHOULD leap frog us with their respective victories. UConn will probably move up to the top spot, although not sure they should.

Notre Dame is going to be the first real test this year of our defense.
They have multiple scorers and oh yes thay can shoot the 3.

And #8 Iowa State who earlier lost to unranked Northern Iowa only beat unranked Drake by 2. Me thinks Iowa State is overrated

How about Karen A. and UTSA? Leading their division. Maybe UTSA will reach that 20-game win plateau this year after all.

Note Dame only needed regulation to beat UConn 79-68 yesterday evening. UConn was without Azzi Fudd. Hidalgo was the menace once again. 29 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals. Inside it was Notre Dame’s Liatu King with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Yes ND led that game all but about 1:30 I believe. They’ve now beaten three Top 5 teams (USC, Texas & Uconn).

Okay, they played a nothing team, but Tennessee set a record for 3s made...30-63. That's a lot of 3s. Can you imagine 63 3 attempts? That would take Texas 5 or 6 games to do.

Tennessee’s new coach has them playing a fast-paced run & gun offense. They average 40 3-pt attempts per game hitting 32%

Tennessee played a nothing team and rhey scored 139 including making 30 threes. Oddly enough they took 63 threes. But that nothing team, a team that has a 0 -12 record and barely averages 45 points per game… that team scored 59 against Tennessee. The new Tennessee coach is signature all gas and no defense. It’s what she did at Marshall and it will be interesting to see how it holds up in the big leagues.

It won't fare too well. The threes will be better contested, and allowing a better opponent to get easy looks will spell doom.

Of course there will be the occasional night when Tenn is on fire and the opponent can't hit the broad side of a barn, but it won't be most nights.

Richmond will face both Tennessee and Alabama this coming weekend in the West Palm Beach Classic. I'll be interested to see the results of those games, although the score of our game versus Richmond probably has those teams on alert.

This has absolutely nothing to do with other games, (and it won't matter once conference starts) BUT why does ESPN list SEC standings alphabetically while every other is listed by wins/losses?
