Other WBB Games

I'm just halfway looking, but OU looks just about like we did in the first half against SC. Terrible shooting percentage. I wonder if SC will continue to increase their lead in the second half or if OU can stop the further bleeding in the second like we did. SC plays extremely fast and quick. OU often looks rushed in their shots like we did. I think we will play them very well in Austin.

OU down by 25 at halftime. I believe we were behind SC 17 points at the half.

OU loses by 41 points to SC
The biggest takeaway from this game is the difference in the way we defend, and the way OU defends. Also, we got high percentage shots we wanted out of our offense against SC... just couldn't even make a layup. OU got whatever shots they could... a lot of that was hurrying across half court and quickly taking low percentage shots before SC could get in position to defend.

Now THAT was a route.

Much worse than us.
Apples to oranges. Blow u has the green light to put up shots as soon as the cross the midcourt line. They play fast and as the announcer said they are playing too fast today. Blow u didnt have the luxury of offensive rebounding that Tx has. When you put up quick shots and dont make em that spells trouble.

Add that to poor defense and turnovers and that equals this blowout.
I think we match up better defensively carolina

Whats scary is that carolina played most of the 2nd quarter with 2 freshman and 2 sophomores on the floor.

Vanderbilt upsets Tennessee in Nashville by one (71-70) on a putback shot by a freshman Mikala Blakes (23 pts). Ironically her brother had the game winning shot for Stanford at North Carolina the day before.

I don’t love that Tennessee is going to show up in Austin on a 3 game losing streak, but a Lady Vols 4 game losing streak in conference play sounds good to me.

Even more ironically the Tenn Men lost by one at Vanderbilt the day before.

The new Tennessee coach is like the OU coach - the offensive plan is everyone has the green light and hope the other team doesn’t have a good defense.

The new Tennessee coach is due to have her baby any day now so it will be interesting to see if she makes the Austin trip. Is that something they bet on in Vegas? Lol

#11 K State beat Arizona St yesterday to go 7-0 in conference play but Ayoka Lee was injured. Their coach said “it’s not good, I don’t have a definitive update but it’s not going to be a week or two”. That doesn’t sound good.

Definitely opens the door for #10 TCU (also 7-0) to win the Big 12 especially if Lee is not back in the lineup for their Feb 5th matchup. How does Baylor lose by 23 points at home to Ok St that has losses to Kansas at home and Houston on the road?

WBB down to two undefeated teams in UCLA and LSU after Ohio State lost to Penn State for their first conference win of the season yesterday.

While I don’t like seeing LSU win games, I can still fantasize about an undefeated LSU coming to Austin on Feb 15th and losing to the Longhorns a week after Texas hosts (and beats) South Carolina. Provided Texas has taken care of business that would give us the tiebreaker for first place. LSU will have to survive their trip to South Carolina Thursday for that scenario to have a chance to be played out (not to mention a LOT of conference games yet to be played).

Looked at the minutes played for TCU. Van Lith and Prince both played 40 minutes, two other starters played 38. Only two players came off the bench one with 15 minutes the other with just 2. Do they need to hold walk on tryouts again or something?

LSU is no longer undefeated as they go down to South Carolina. I am not looking forward to playing LSU much less a second meeting with SC. Thank God they are both home games

K State lost their first game without Ayoka Lee (foot injury) to Colorado by 10 in Boulder snapping a 14-game winning streak

Oklahoma State overcomes a 10 point 4th quarter deficit and knocks off TCU in Stillwater 60 - 59.
Watched the final 3 minutes of this game and attended the TCU-Baylor game today, Jan. 26. IMHO, TCU coach lost the Okie State game by not calling time out to break momentum of the OSU player who hit 3 3s in final 2 min. Yes, Van Lith and Prince looked tired. They might have hung on to win with a breather near the end.

Today, TCU beat Baylor 80-75 for the first time in 35 years ...according to frog sports media. Similar scenario as at OSU - TCU up by as much as 18 and by 10 until final 2 or 3 minutes when Baylor fouled to stop clock. Happy to see a bus load of sad yellow/gold clad fans heading back to Waco ... why do they wear that awful, I think, color ... green is so much more pleasing.

Headed into a new week Texas is tied for 2nd with LSU and Kentucky and would be a #3 seed if the regular season ended today.

I will be a big Lady Vols fan tonight when they host South Carolina at 6:00 on ESPN2

That Tennessee team doesn’t give up. I’ll give them that. They erased a 22 point deficit against South Carolina to end with a 7 point loss. It must be maddening to be a Lady Vols fan these days.

Is it just me, or do SEC teams seem to be getting good national television time? We’ve had games on ABC, Fox, ESPN and ESPN2 already in addition to the SEC Network. It’s been nice. When we were with the B12, it felt like if we weren’t on LHN, then it was usually ESPNU or maybe FS1.

I'm loving this new conference even if it's a whole lot tougher to win. I've watched several Big 12 games, and they seem so boring to me now.

No meteor but Sa’Myah Smith (LSU) shoved an OU post to the floor after a whistle and Liz Scott (OU) took umbrage and shoved Smith hard. After video review Smith & Scott were both disqualified (midway thru Q1). We later find out the refs classified it as a fight and both players are disqualified for the next game.

Q 2 and OU’s coach just got a T for doing much less on the sidelines than the Sea Hag always gets away with. WTH?

I’m glad Texas plays LSU in Austin this year. Even so, our players have to be prepared to both be tough and keep their cool.
