big mistake by the OU guard. You have to wonder if players at schools get any kind of spending money for her to try to steal $34 worth of cosmetics.
She may get community service at a local car dealership for punishment. How much they do or don't get paid probably has no impact here. The largest demographic for shoplifting is housewives or women in their 30s to 40s who make have a good amount of money available to spend. It is not about the money often times.
This is so sad. Jenna is a super athlete and she has torn UT up with her 3 pt shooting several times. She is also a Native American and her success has been touted as a model for other children of similar background. I hope and pray she can get through this and that others can learn from her experience. We forget how immature these kids are and an event like this just reinforces that fact. Do the right thing Jenna and move forward!!
Why would Jenna want to steal physical items from a store? Doesn't she know she's supposed to be stealing possession of real estate?
Whoa!! Big time punishment! Sounds like there were other issues, too. But Coach Coale is not turning her back on Plumley. Gotta give her a lot of props for that. It's on Plumley to take advantage of this chance.
Was there other stuff going on? Would she have suspended her if they didn't have a hotshot point gaurd signed for this year?
Sounds like this may have just been the final straw. You have to wonder if she may ask for a transfer. That is a real shame since Plumley wsa obviously a role model to many.
Her mistake was not beating somebody down in the process or for trying to steal something of a higher dollar value. Had she shown true Sooner ability she would have stayed on the team with little to no punishment. Seriously, hope she sorts our her issues. There had to have been other things going on that a stern message had to be sent for her and maybe others. Props to the coach for doing what she felt was necessary.
