Bottom-line, they lost control of Bevo. They need to fix that.

An 1800 pound steer is going to do what it wants, 5 men is not going to stop Bevo. They probably need to recognize when he is cranky or that steers usually don’t care for dogs.

I bet the GA people wished that they would have dressed Uga in burnt orange instead of the red he was wearing. Bevo would have liked that.

Yet Bevo paraded through the Quarter calm as could be.
But there were no dogs around him, just lots of people-- that he is used to.

C'mon man...you should KNOW you cannot STOP a Bevo, you can only hope to CONTAIN a Bevo :bevo::hookem:

Which actually brings this back to a problem with the UGA handlers, NOT the Bevo squad...

I watched the overhead cam of the incident. It did not look like the SS knew a "photo op" was about to take place.

wonder how much UT will have to pay the photographer who got Hooked?

If the stupid dog handlers mess this up, I'm going to be extremely pissed.

Don't mix mascots. Don't mix pets/animals when you can't control the outcome. Any dog owner knows this. You might have a great dog that gets along with everyone, but you don't walk it up to a pit bull or any dog that has potential for aggression. That's stupid.

He was local AAS press...I doubt he asks for much or even thinks to ask for anything.

This incident may be more on GA dog handlers than The Silver Spurs.

If it looked live like SS didn't know a photo op was about to take place, then I submit they REALLY didn't know. Had they known, I suspect they would have looked ready for company and furthermore might have exercised a bit more caution / control of said Bevo.

for sure UT needs to cover his medical needs and I know they will
I just don't want an Avennatti type trying to make a quick score.
    I hope you are right.

I still love the buffalo (chucky???) that CU used to have. Talk about limited control.

Regardless of fault, this is why fewer and fewer venues are allowing live mascots.

Hmmm, now let’s think about this.

At a baseball game you can get beaned by a hard, round white object traveling at better than 100 mph. I’ve seen it happen many times. That can kill you. So can a bat that slips out of a player’s hand.

At a hockey game you can get plunked by a disc traveling at probably 150 mph. That can kill you too.

If you slip walking up or down the stands you can hurt yourself, badly. We’ve all seen it happen.

If you say the wrong thing — like, how you doing? — to the drunk idiot sitting close to you, you might end up with a mouth full of teeth. Disconnected teeth.

If you show up at some venues wearing the visitor’s apparel, you might get punched, or stabbed. Ever been to an NFL game in Oakland?

So, because of the “one in a billion” chance that Bevo or Ralphie breaks free and nudges you, we should ban these animals?

Yep, that sounds just about right to me in today’s environment.

Bystander, cows/steers/bulls do not like dogs, period. Bevo made a sudden move that the handlers didn't see coming. I thought the handlers did a great job grabbing hold of Bevo before he could continue. Have read an article or two about how, when Bevo decides he wants to go for a stroll during a game, the handlers don't try to ski behind him but drop the ropes so he doesn't feel pressure he then feels the need to fight against. The female photographer came up laughing but she almost had a pretty good head injury.....I guess she knows now after the video....
