Philip Rivers a Tech fan?

Did anybody else catch the pre-game interview on The NFL Today?

Philip Rivers was sporting a Texas Tech shirt. Is there a connection there? He's from Alabama and played college ball in North Carolina.

 

When playing for NC State he played a game at Tech. Maybe there is something there.

 

I didn't see the interview, but supposedly Bobby Knight gave Rivers an autographed TT sweater in 2002.

 

I'd be upset if I were an NC State fan.

 

Maybe it's a protest move against the firing of Amato.
