You're not alone. Arsenal got it last year. Former WHU manager Alan Pardew went into the Arsenal coach's box and taunted Wenger after WHU's loan, winning goal. Wenger got fined for pushing Pardew away, Pardew got canned later that year for sucking.

Ah, give 'em a break. Hope everyone is bringing in the New Year happy and safe. The Moet & Chandon is going down great! What else would you expect from an Arsenal fan? Here's hoping that I make it to Fado's tomorrow by 9am and the Gunners are still 2 point ahead on top by 11am!

    EDIT:

Ok, just to recap after the Holiday stretch. Arsenal actually increased their slim lead over MUFC by a point. Chelsea remained six points behind Arsenal. Liverpool play tomorrow, but they should get three points from Wigan and remain in 4th place with a game in hand.

Key matches? Obviously MUFC-WHU. That was the killer, zero points earned. Chelsea dropped two points in the bizzare Aston Villa game. Arsenal disappointed at Pompey, but redeemed at Everton. After tomorrow against Wigan, Liverpool should match Arsenal's 10 points. Liverpool had a chance to make ground at City, but left with a point.

The others: Newcastle? Just an ugly, unfortunate stretch for them. Man. City - too many draws. I thought they had a good chance to pick up points. Tottenham - too much work for a win vs. Reading, and they dropped more points today against Villa.

If the second half holds to form, it should be a battle between Arsenal and MUFC at the top. Chelsea is the question mark. They straddle in the area between the fight for the top and the four or so clubs (including Liverpool, City, Everton, and Pompey) fighting for the fourth CL spot.

Given Arse's schedule, it was not laughable in the least. Your analysis on the other hand . . .

Very resilient performances by Arse over the holidays to get back to the top of the table. Eduardo's emergence is huge for them.

United looked horrible against B'ham and is suffering from a dip in form. They really need Scholes to get back and Brown is becoming a bit of a liability at RB. Tevez will likely miss a couple matches although Rooney will be back.

All in all, the break demonstrated Arse's title credentials.

On to the transfer window and the ANC. Chelsea will likely be most affected by both.

Arse and United both have manageable schedules in January although United's dip in form is worrisome.

I didn't think Arsenal had it in them, but they're definitely going to mount a serious title challenge. I thought their youth and inexperience would see them crumble at some point but they're proving me wrong.

The Christmas season is now over.

Arsenal are obviously the big winners picking up 10 points from a very difficult series of fixtures. They are in it to win it.

Chelsea can also be happy with its 10 point haul considering their injury list. I still think they will be decimated by the ACN but their resilience is impressive.

United threw away 3 points at West Ham and were generally unconvincing outside of the destruction of Sunderland. As stated above, Scholes can’t get back quick enough as United are having difficulty retaining the ball in the middle of the park and Scholes excels in that regard. It has gone a bit sideways at OT with Sir criticizing the fans, but overall United are in a very solid position to go toe to toe with the Gooners over the second half.

Liverpool . . . what can you say? Started off very strong with a dominant win over Pompey and then went into the tank. Got a last gasp winner to narrowly defeat cellar dwelling Derby, were held scoreless at Citeh and today gave up a late equalizer at home to Titus freaking Bramble to draw a relegation threatened Wigan side. Horrible result that eliminates them from the title race IMO. 12 points adrift Arse and 10 points behind United, albeit with a game in hand. Only Fulham has more draws in the league. Frankly, they should worry more about holding on to that 4th CL spot than winning the league.
