Plasma has cost advantages and maybe provides a better picture than flat LCD. There was a myth going around that plasma sets last only a few years, but they actually last closer to a decade.

Plasma sales will accellerate further in the next year or two as good 50" models get down to under $2,500.

The only downside is potential burn in if you aren't careful.

Plasma only lasts for a decade? WTF is that? If I am going to plunk down 10K for a big plasma TV then it damn well better last more than a decade.

I do think they are pretty cool though. If they get less expensive then I'll get one[IMG]

I think Plasma is quite a bit cheaper at the larger sizes. Manufacturing a flat panel LCD at 40" and above is extremely difficult.

does your living space require that it be 4"-6" deep? if not then look into the DLPs and LCD projections... typically only 12-15" deep.... the Samsung DLPs are a great option as are the Sony Grand Wega's....
