I'm asking here, because there could be looniness on either side depending on the facts, but can anyone say what actually happened in Tennessee? The media basically says they were expelled for no reason other than protesting for gun control. Surely there was more to it, right? Politicians from both sides protest and rally all the time. Does anyone know what made this different?
Three very progressive representatives broke chamber rules by using a bullhorn to lead people in the gallery as the house tried to carry on business. These reps were trying to get arrested, but the Speaker refused to give them a platform. Nothing reported by the national media has been accurate. They even keep reporting there were 7 victims. Yes, they count the murderer as a victim.

In general, I like the idea of a check on automobiles for safety. Is it that the current testing doesn't do that or that it shouldn't cost what it does (something like $80)?
I agree it's mostly a scam. But, as I'm sure HIC can tell you also if you don't have any inspections people at the lower end of the income scale will driving around in cars that are not only dangerous themselves but others. I nearly got killed by someone who had a non-functioning left blinker. Maybe the solution is every 2 or 3 years. There's not enough cops to enforce dangerous speeders much less a bad blinker.
run I think the lower end already do not get inspections. I hate getting hosed by inspection stations who "find" stuff
I've known some who bypass inspections by checking the box at registration that the vehicle is out of State. They send the sticker and advise the Registrant to have an inspection upon return. I have also known of some registering in Counties that don't require emissions testing... The Miata has a cat delete that goes unnoticed because it sits so low and bolted in with flanges like a cat...
My dad used to get tires from a friend to put on his old station wagon in order to pass tread depth back when they checked tread wear. Sneaky my Dad was.

She wants it for free. That's the arrangement with the National Health Service. You pay them in taxes, and they cover your medical needs. She could go private and pay for it out of pocket, but presumably, she (like most Brits) doesn't have the cash. Personally, I have private health insurance, so I usually go private (mainly to avoid ridiculous waiting lists and bullcrap), but most aren't in my position.
