Increase personal tax brackets for top earners
Enshrine the right to housing in the law; introduce rent controls; boost mortgage relief
Stop further privatization of things such as health facilities
Provide free education for all from the age of three months
Raise the minimum wage to 50 percent of the average wage

Typical socialists: demand and do violence that good may come.

And finally, does anyone see a fire tyrannosaur over the burning bus?

As wealth is increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few in America and as the lower class grows ever bigger and the middle class ever smaller, you're going to see the same kinds of stuff in the U.S.

This is an example of how socialist policies transform people. A safety net becomes an entitlement, and former free citizens become clients, infantilized to being totally dependent upon the state.

You saw a similar phenomenon when East Germany was rolled back into West. A people once known for their hard work had become damned near incapable of committing to work, in only 40 years. The West Germans couldn't believe they were related to them.

Their agenda; more taxes for the "rich" and redistributing the wealth reminds me of Obama's agenda.

Most of the protestors I saw were very young and probably don't have a single political thought in their heads. They're just raising hell because they're bored and hoping for a new plasma TV or Xbox.

When we finally cut off the production of government cheese, I agree that this is going to happen here as well. Look at Wisconsin. This is another reason why Rand Paul's "penny" plan makes so much sense. Start now, cut 1%. A real 1% cut. Then do it again every year.

If we don't then reality is going to hit us like a ton of bricks and there will be violence.

Socialist models that enocourage laziness and dependency are bound to fail. Socilist policies that provide job training, put people in productive jobs and make the pie bigger for everyone are not impossible. WPA was a helluva a lot better than welfare and unemployment. The Israeli model for handling high school dropout/low performers is certainly worthy of emulation. Manpower needs in Israel are so great that they can't write off a large class of non-productive citizens. Their worst students, mostly males, are assigned to military facilities where they are taught by what the Israelis call girl soldiers, just a couple of years older than they. Working with hormones instead of against them, the training programs succeed where schools failed. The training is coupled with aptitude testing so the youngster can't get into programs for which they are unsuited but have doors opened to areas where they are likely to succeed. Most people want to be productive and useful. They raise hell when they can't figure out how.

Great point. We have huge unemployment and major infrastructure needs. Hmmm.

After WW2, George Marshall stated that hunger and poverty= an attraction to socialism, communism. So, why not try to help everyone. Is it that important to protect the top 2 percent from paying taxes if it sinks the rest of us??

Have you ever been to a Tea Party meeting? The rich are honored as "job creators' and we can't " punish success.' While only a small percentage of the Tea Party folks are ricfh, they all seem to expect someday to be rich. Kinda like the folks that keep Amway and PrePaid Legal going even though most never make much of a return for their effort a few make oodles and gobs and keep the rest excited. But that's really beside the point. We should not impose confiscatory taxes on the rich, but when it's time for sacrafice, they should not be exempt.

If I was a Londoner I would demand that of them get arrested and made a public mockery of.

There is no political agenda here. It's a mob of thugs running wild and like Clean stated, most of them are young punks.

I'm pretty much with you on that.

It's fun to riot, to loot. Give me a break.

slaves work for nothing, so it doesn't seem appropriate for you to declare the black democratic constituency as slaves when they supposedly get so many benefits for doing nothing. ill never understand how good citizenship became entwined with work.

i can see that task must be done for people to survive, but i don't think that work was the central organizing principle of civilization as it has become today. those who attempt to make work the central principle of another life are the true slave drivers.

i live my life to limit demand because i am keenly aware that people suffer terribly when they work. if demand is down then prices go down. to me, if prices go down, then people are freer to engage in their chosen activities. that is, if people are tapped into their true nature, then they are more productive; consequently, prices drop further as supply increases when people self actualize.

Nothing wrong with living frugally. In fact, it is smart. However, that is a different argument than you made originally.

Guys who make a billion a year aren't really hurting when they pay 25 percent of it to the government. It's a lot harder when you make $25,000 a year.

I've heard Warren Buffet say its nuts that he pays less percentage of his income in taxes than does his secretary.
