    Levitt Schedule

The Levitt Pavilion is an outdoor amphitheatre just north of UTA. For the 3rd year, the city is sponsoring a free concert series. On Wednesday's, children's musical groups (for children, not by children) are performing at 10:30AM and 7:30 PM. They have concessions selling ice cream, snow cones, etc. The show and parking are free.

Another neat activity I like, on a smaller scale, is the daddy story time at the SE library. The librarians say that they wanted a story time dads could bring their toddlers to, and if they let moms come, the moms end up taking it over. That's why they dedicated a story time Thursday evenings (6:30 PM) just for dads. It's a lot of fun.

Anything that allows kids to have "daddy tim" is great. too many dads are treated as just sperm donors.

Thanks, Texanne. Daddy Storytime is actually pretty popular with the moms, too. It's a funny thing- a lot of moms are reluctant to grab personal time and feel they need to be on "mommy duty" 24/7 (the dads think that's silly, and fully support the idea of the moms going out with the girls and having margaritas). Somehow, they feel it's OK to go out and do something for themselves during Daddy Storytime, because the baby is in a nurturing activity, with daddy. One of the other dads told us about coming home from work before Storytime, to find junior packed in the portable car seat, by the entry, with the diaper bag loaded for business. Mommy was ready to go!

Anyway, it's a lot of fun, and a good group of guys.
