Go to 14 teams. Add 4 teams from Mountain West: TCU to the south and BYU, Utah and Boise State to the North. Sure the media markets dont add much, but what did Nebraska and Colorado bring media market wise? Sure UT would like to have a closer association with major academic and research oriented universities in the Pac 10, but will it really translate to more federal grant dollars? From a control perspective, going to the Pac 10 will mean UT loses its clout in controlling league activities, but maintains it by keeping the league alive.
