Bugs me too. It strains my brain to relate to his logic most of the time. Seems like a very emotional "thinker" with pretty shallow takes... Whatever..he's worked the system and getting paid, too...alot....for real lame subjective takes. Spends most of his time trying to play "gotcha" with others (kind of like a few posters around here). ...the lowest form of "journalism" IMO

No way we land this O-line class without the NIL deals. I said from the beginning that I dislike NIL because it will eventually ruin college football for me. Allow me to digress into a molehill/not mountain. If your son was going into sports "journalism," wouldn't you advise him to take detailed inventory of the audience, its interests, its attention span, the types of things that "work," the principle of saying something interesting or provocative, even if not centered and reasonable.... When I see someone succeed like this, I'm reminded of the bumper sticker I once saw (in front of me) on a beat up car. It said, "I may be slow, but I'm ahead of you!" Lots of people look at the Jake Pauls, Miley Cyrus's, heck even the Donald Trumps, of the world and at their seemingly low-IQ content, and say, "wow, they are dumb," and I'm thinking, hmmm..... Building a public persona (of any kind) and selling it effectively, and building a solid profitable business based upon that created character, well, that's pretty high-level, really.
You and I agree on many things, VY...often...but, no...I'm not into this^^^^ at all...I get where you are coming from...and it isn't my life, its theirs...But, for me that is a very materialistic view and, like much of our society and economy and entertainment today, is built on shallow, self serving, cruddy, and a succeed at all costs, sellng-out for dollars and clicks mentality. What we need IMHO is virtue, values, substance, character , and integrity. But again...to each his own. I dont even know Sam.....I'm just judging the work of he and so many of modern day journalists, pundits, entertainers, etc. If measuring Miley Cyrus by material success....sure, I guess... But her art is still trash...hope she has peace in her soul and sleeps well at night
I am not old enough to have known, nor do I think anyone on this board is old enough, but imagine the old Fort Worth Press Sports Department, which was comprised of Tex Schram, Dan Jenkins, Blackie Sherrod, Tom Murray ("Murray Go Round"), and one more my old brain can't dredge up right now. What happened to real you can count on it journalism?
Why not? For decades the HBCU had to play each other. Florida A&M is "the Black Harvard' and a wonderful friend to any coach recruiting against FSU. Go to the FSU business school and look at the list of recruiters, then walk across the RR tracks and do the same at Fla A&M. Recruiters going to the latter read like the Fortune 50. FSU, not so much.
Too bad he isn't at OU. He would be lauded for being forward thinking and a go-getter who doesn't wait for things to happen, like the Land Thieves themselves.
