Unlike many on here, I really like Tech, but now they are acting like Aggies; throwing $200 million to do very little to a $100 million stadium. Likely could build a domed stadium in Lubbock for $300-350, but they don't want to give up that wind. Endzone clubs are for socializing NOT for watching football - says a man whose school has a club on the fifty where you have to listen to Craig Way two plays late, not to mention have a sterile, golf-clap crowd.

Unfortunately it will still be in Lubbock. A lot of alumni are going to have to drive from the Metroplex and El Paso to fill it up.

 

SMU higher than expected. No Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, LSU

 

Connections. Mommy & daddy have that executive position lined up before they start college. I bet they also have a lot fewer % of students in education, social work, "helping" type careers that bring the average down.

 

That stat makes our record over the same time frame look pathetic.

I lived in Lubbuttock 18 yrs. It's hard being a Longhorn in that town. Many of my family & friends are Raiders. They collectively lose their minds when UT "steals their coach", change conferences & leave them behind, etc. According to them, there is a vast UT conspiracy to keep them down. (Sound familiar?) I'm SO grateful I don't live there any longer. I can wish them well from a distance but up close they are insufferable.

They don't need us to keep them down. They're quite good at doing that to themselves. And I'll add, that campus is uglier than a buzzard's backside. So is the town for the most part. Also, that place is too damn flat.

 

1 final thing...Their mascot is a rip-off of a cartoon character that is a loud'-mouth, blowhard, bully, bragger that inevitably, without fail gets his arse kicked by a rabbit.
