If the trend continues, what do you all think will be the result?

All trends come to an end. I suppose there are multiple possibilities how this one will end. I would guess the most likely scenarios are:

    A) Social unrest forces radical changes to society and the political structure

    or

    B) A crash greater than the last one causes trillions of dollars worth of paper wealth to disintegrate; then most everyone will be poor

As we do more to hurt business, I would assume that wealth, like in Europe, will be held by fewer individuals. The super wealthy (which will include many politicians) will be able to protect their wealth while the rest will be forced to give it to government. Government will redistribute that money in a way to gain votes and will finance other votes via debt. The solution would be a return to capitalism, but instead we will continue to move towards a socialist skewed cronyistic system.

Uniformed, we're not headed that way. We are already there.
