Recruiting - Tennis

Well, he's class of '26 though. : )

Tbh, I'd rather just keep a non-year class recruiting thread for both men and women. Just a thought.

If it is for 2025-26 season, he is recruiting class 2025. Regardless I fixed it.

Nice pick up! Excited to see how he develops next few years. Also heard coach at the us open recruiting few international players but I don’t think any committed or strong lean yet

Mariano will be an interesting pick up. His brother Diego is one of the best junior players and probably the best 16U at the moment

There’s so much log jam at that quality type of player. I have no idea how coach is going to pick the 3-6 spots tbh and If Sabina isn’t healthy , 2-6 is interchangeable

Agreed. It's difficult for me to identify the top 6 since 3 of the potential top 6 haven't played a collegiate match yet. : /

They really need a true #1 player. I think they addressed last year teams depth issue but it still lacks a proven #1.

Vivian ovrootsky is in the transfer portal. Sad to see her so low in line up. She always competes it’s interesting coaching preferred giving freshman a chance at 1-3 when Sabina was out over Vivian and sometimes Vivian wasn’t even in the line up. We really didn’t get good results with Sabina out of line up tbh.

With ionescu and McNeil coming in, we have such a huge log jam at players who should be 4-6 and maybe some 3.

That's odd to enter the portal before our post-season has ended. Wonder if she's not in the lineup for our match at Michigan; perhaps she also has graduation ceremonies to attend this weekend?

kind of worried about women’s team. Charlotte leaving and we don’t really have any strong top of line up players for a few consecutive years now

This is what I had posted about Ashton Bowers back in February 2024:

Apparently, she didn't just "decommit" from Auburn as she had signed her LOI in November 2023. I guess after Auburn abruptly fired their head coach in January 2024, Bowers must have asked for a release from her LOI. Three weeks later she committed to Texas.

She's from Georgia. Auburn had a very good season under their new head coach who was an assistant at A&M. She's a very good player; sorry to see her leave.
