I disagree. It is a bowl game in the worst run sports venue in the country.

"We're the Post Office. We don't care. Because we don't have to".

Same management philosophy in place at the Rose Bowl.

Anyone that has been around them will say that report is false. The percentage is actually much higher.

Well there were numerous prognosticators saying the playoff would ruin the bowls. I didn’t believe it at the time but there weren’t all these ‘opt outs’ before now.

Just need to expand playoffs to include more bowls.

The Rose Bowl. Management has no idea how to run a seven-year-old flag game much less a major bowl Staff is rude, concessions out of food in second quarter.

How could you tell? Getting out to the concession stands IDA major accomplishment.

I root for Michigan against them every year. Finally the worm has turned back in Big Blue’s favor.

It’s the only place I’ve been where fans actually threw stuff at me after the game. And I went to Arkansas 1969.

I'm on the other side of this argument, more playoffs would only weaken the regular season.

    I never bought that.
What if your star player (QB, RB) is injured in fall camp.
You lose a game or two before they come back.
But you win out after they return and it's obvious by the end of the season you are one of the top teams.
I think you can expand playoffs to eight games and that would include every no loss and good one loss team out there.
I think twelve games might be a bit much.

Agree moon - I've always thought eight teams would be ideal as you could have the Power Five conference champions and three at large, coming from the other conferences, independents, and/or another Power Five team that didn't win the championship but still sits near the top.

Yes, I wrote games meaning teams.

The confounding variable here is time. If we went back to just voting on the #1 and #2 teams after the bowls, all these other bowls not involving top 3-5 teams would still have the exact same relevance to the Champion as they currently do and did in the past - none. It's just how things are now.

My complaint was weakening the regular season, not bowl games.
If you are going to expand the playoffs go big and make it 16 teams. There's the bowl season.
That would make much better football in the postseason.
I know rivalries and all that, but they are going away as we speak.
Maybe 1 OOC game for rivalries?

Notwithstanding the OSU element, I cannot blame ANYONE for not wanting to travel to California. I've got a friend who keeps trying to persuade me to visit but I absolutely refuse until that State gets a competent Governor and a sniffles response that actually makes sense. Texas could be playing out there and I would not want to set foot or spend dollar one in that State...

Used to spend a pretty significant amount of time there over the last 10-12 years, both working for a company based in the LA area and making regular trips to visit wine country and the Indy race in Sonoma. Thankfully I left that company a while back and was able to avoid those trips, and have stopped any CA wine visits (and most purchases for that matter) due to the continued descent into deeper and deeper suckage occurring there.

Also agree with the aforementioned sentiments about the Rose Bowl. Was extremely excited to visit for the Texas-Alabama championship game primarily because of the game, but also because I wanted to visit a college football mecca. OMG, was I disappointed. Other than the iconic Rose Bowl sign on the edifice, the entire place was a dump - cramped, horrible access and egress, crappy concessions, etc. It made the Cotton Bowl feel like Jerry World. Never again, even if we're in the NC game.

It used to be such a great place. Now it’s fallen off the cliff into the abyss. I had plenty of fun times out there way back when—in the cities, on the mountains, and at the beaches. I wouldn’t want to go there now.
