I was in the stands this day as a junior pharmacy student, 11/6/1976. Beautiful weather, horrible outcome.
Won SWC championship first year as a conference member

I had just moved to Houston in 1975 at the ripe old age of 20. I saw the score, lost a $10.00 bet and thought , Man UH must have one hell of a coach. RIP coach.

Yeoman cost me a lot of money. I used to have extra cash from summer hay hauling when the Dallas Morning News would advertise Cotton Bowl Tickets every fall and I would buy 10. If Texas or A&M won the SWC, I was in tall cotton and could resell the tickets for enormous profit. If Houston went... and they often did... I had to try to round up some friends to go the game with me ... on my dime..
