Sam had a nice day against the Bills
10-11 for 88 yds, 2 TDs with rating of 139

Bills were blitzing a lot and he took 2 sacks but scrambled out of jams. Both TD passes were made on the run scrambling to the right. He ran for two first downs.

Overcame penalties and sacks multiple times. I think he looked better than Foles.

Hope he earns the 2 spot.

Saw Sam’s TD passes tonight. Very impressive how he moved in the pocket on both. I think he could be an effective starter in the league if given the chance.

From another article praising his work in that game: "As a four-year starter at Texas, Ehlinger threw for 11,436 yards, 94 touchdowns, and 27 touchdowns. He ran for 1,903 yards and 33 touchdowns." . . . . yeah, me neither.

Looked a lot like many of his best plays in college.

He's thrown another two TD passes today against the Lions.

As a father I believe I may always feel a little heartbreak when I think of Sam. I can imagine how much he would love to have his dad and brother sharing in these successful NFL moments of his.

    Hook ’Em :hookem: Sam

So expect him to be among the next round of cuts.

Oh, wait. He isn't playing for Jerrah.

I wish he was. I was worried when the Colts picked up two quarterbacks with successful playoff experience that he might have to worry about a roster spot.

There was some confusion on this board a few years about the meaning of the “back-up” QB (as it related to Colt). Some thought “back-up” meant No. 2 QB. No, no, no.

The back-up QB is the back-up to No. 1 (replaces him) if he gets injured in an game and/or fills in for him in the next game. When No. 2 is ready to replace injured No. 1, then the back-up QB is the back-up to No. 2 until No. 1 returns. In other words, the back-up QB is NOT No. 2. It is the backup to No.1 and No.2 as the case may be. It’s akin to a reliever in baseball vs being Starter No. 2.

We need to wait to see if Sam is No. 2 or the back up. Generally a veteran plays the role of backup and the younger competitor is No. 2.

Whatever string he's playing, it's starting to look like he's gonna stick!
