don't get stuck out near jagged point at dark. buy gas before you get leave the carmel area if heading south or going north from san simeon.

the views from the hurst castle are awesome. it used to be a 40000 acre ranch.(f'n huge)

That is a nice trip. we took highway one south from monterrey thinking we could do the 40 miles in an hour. big mistake. beautiful drive but it can make you carsick if you are in a hurry. give yourself plenty of time to stop and see the vistas.

Fly into Monterey if you can find a schedule that fits your travel plans. I believe they are served by American (Eagle), United, and U.S. air.

Monterrey is a good airport and location. I used to fly in there for the Army.
