Take 5 minutes and listen to this. I have no idea how to keep 105 18-24 year olds marching the same direction with everything in the world today. But building culture has to be a key to it and I feel like Sark really believes this, it's not just words for the media.

The culture has changed in a very positive way. That is something this program has lacked for more than a decade. Sark has moved the needle a significant amount in a short amount of time. The dividends are starting to flow in.

One of the players, I think Jordan Whittington, responded to the 5* trash talk from ISU players. His response was something like, we have great players and great coaches and great culture. That is important thought. Great players with confidence in their coaches is crucial to being a national championship calibre program. It cant be done without both. Bradley embodied that attitude when he said of the coin toss against aTm, “it doesnt make a s—-“ Confidence comes when the players and coaches have the winner culture. Billy made 4 interceptions that day. A standing NCAA record. Winners beget winning begets more winners.

One of the things I like most about Sark, and I have felt this way from year one, he gives really thoughtful answers to questions. He falls into coach-speak every now and again, but mostly, his answers are like this one, and you usually get more than you were expecting.

His direct example re: Roschon/Bijan picking up the trash was perfect. His news conferences, Longhorn Weekly and Rewind With Coach Sark are all must watches for me. He's not only thoughtful but truly a professional college coach.

Right now if Sark sang Mary had a little lamb at his press conference, I'd listen and reflect. 10-1 does that.

    Driver 8 Amor Fati

That is a very good explanation from Sark
Clearly the program culture is something he has devoted a lot of thought and energy to, and it is showing
    Great stuff right there

Anyone who doesn't believe CDC got the right guy for us, I feel sorry for. I hope and pray that I can say that five years from now. Most importantly, I believe I will be able to do just that.
Sark is not perfect, no one ever will be, but this gives me the firm belief that Sark holds himself to an even higher standard and will continue to get better by learning from any shortcomings he may have.

Great point about Sark holding himself to higher standard
I agree which is why it was so great to see Sark kinda relax and enjoy 10th win with team and fans singing the Eyes.

I look forward to the day when Sark wins his first national championship at Texas. Then, us fans won’t feel bad tearing him down after an 8-4 season.

I watch all of his press conferences, and he never disappoints. The PC today was special, I believe his best ever. Good questions, and heartfelt and thoughtful answers. A keeper.

And by the way, talk about a recruiting video. Think parents would be interested in this perspective?

True 67. Sark has mentioned several times this year that the team is yet to play its best football. While this was obviously still not the best we can play, it was definitely a step in the right direction. I would love to see it all come together on Friday and then again in the CCG.

Bijan and Roschon laid the foundation. It’s a shame that they didn’t get to enjoy the fruits of their hard work first hand.

That Roschon/Bijan story just speaks volumes to what a credit those two young men were to this school and if Sark ever gets Texas back to the promised land they will have been a big part of that journey ever being possible. Very much reminds me of some players on the early Mack teams that set the table for the later run.

You can feel the power in this…

If you know the Bible at all, this is how we are all designed by our creator… Jesus was a servant leader. He sacrificed his life for his church, his children, his people….

Humility, transparency, discipline, hard work, perseverance, unity.

It is much easier said than done.

Right after Roschon got to Chicago, someone with the Bears commented that they were struck by Roschon cleaning up after the team meetings, so it was not a flash in the pan with him.

Sark lives by a program that some of us on here have found it necessary to live by as well. It is a matter of life and death for us, and I'm not being dramatic about that.

    Sark playing chess...

Steve Sarkisian says Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark will be in DKR Friday. "Hopefully we put on a heck of a show for him. That's what I want. He's the commissioner of our conference, and I'm hopeful that when he watches us play he's proud of the way that we play representing the Big 12 because that's the conference we're in right now."
