Classic. That "town hall" might be a new low point for The One.

I think the larger problem for Obama is the repeated claims (lies) that AARP was all about the plan... formally endorsed the plan and seniors shouldn't be worried about the Plan because AARP's got their back. Problem: It is a ******* lie. AARP's director said today that AARP has NEVER endorsed the plan and has no intention to do so. Either someone needs to actually prepare him for these damn things or he needs to realize that every ******* thing he says is fact checked and a lie will be spotted in the time it takes to google it.

Man! Is this nightmare going to pass and bypass the will of the people?

I am so proud of the people I see speaking at the Townhall's that some in the media are demonizing. It shows that America is alive and well. And I don't think all of the people speaking out are repubs or conservatives.

AARP comment aside, what, precisely, is wrong with the little girl who asked the question? Her mom being an activist somehow....what?....I don't even know what you are trying to imply.

Like its a big ******* surprise that someone who endures everything that it takes to get in on an event like this is somehow motivated to do so...one way or the other? They are usually big fans or big haters.

So what...only the utterly undecided should be able to participate??

I just really don't see the big deal...

Mr. President, Commissoner Williams and Representative Dr. Burgess will sponsor a civil town hall in North Texas, please accept their invitiation............I have three questions for you?

1.) When did the AARP endorse any Healthcare plan?
2.) Of the so called 47 million uninsured, how many will be insured under your plan?
3.) Do you really think Speaker Pelosi speaks for the entire USA?

OCLonghorn, I think everyone understands that when the POTUS is setting up a "Town Hall" that it is really a staged media event. That is not a big surprise. Do you think it is really appropriate to use a young kid in your staged "Town Hall" setting? Come on. The Boston Globe of all people called him out on this.

major- you do actually watch the news don't you? Because there are ads almost every day where the AARP is running ads about the need for Health Care reform. So clearly the sentiment is to change for the current system. So the AARP is endorsing change but not a specific bill....yet.

IN fact it would be a fool's bet to think in the end the AARP is not going to endorse the final bill that comes to a final vote.

Even though the AARP's primary business is selling insurance, they want to be seen more as a advocacy group, than on the side of big insurance no matter where their bread is buttered.

I read the article and noted that they changed mom's status from a coordinator of a pro Obama group to the coordinator.

    How sweet.

The levels of dishonesty of the fear mongering crowd is ratcheting up by the day.

The writer also takes the liberty of assuming that the question was written out the day before at home so that the kid could not possibly know about the mean signs.

    Sweet.

Yes, this is clearly worse than a president holding a "Q-&-A" session with U.S. soldiers in Iraq, who were told beforehand the questions they were to ask. [IMG]

i didn't like it, because it felt manipulative and staged. It was a waste of a question. God knows someone out there must have had something more insightful or constructive to offer.

However, calling the mom, an "Obama operative" is a little disingenuous. Conjurs up images of secret meetings and conspiracy.

Anyway, i disliked this stuff when Bush did it and i dislike it now.

Maybe she wrote it down while inside. A lot of women seem to carry pens and stuff in their purses.

Why couldn't they hire a gay escort service "reporter" to throw the softballs to the president?
