I know there is a shortage of quality baseball coaches out there, but it did surprise me. http://newsok.com/skip-johnson-hired-as-oklahoma-baseball-coach/article/5553452
I was surprised Skip ended up at OU, but never doubted he could handle the head coach duties. If the Augie era had ended better, he would probably be the head coach here. Congratulations.
Not remotely surprised. He was gonna be HC somewhere and Cruise is right on, had Augie finished strong, it would've been here.
The AD must have looked at OU's improvement this year was due to improved pitching and just went ahead and promoted Skip.
77, Nothing against Skip, but the pickins are less than slim. If you had an unlimited checkbook, a great university, and could assure a prospective coach that he would be there until retirement, how many coaches out there would you want. I dare say three of the top five are married to their jobs and won't leave, and I don't know the name of the other two. I really expect Skip to do a great job and make OU more than competitive.
