In all fairness, it was also one of the best designed "hail mary" plays I've ever seen, get the defense focused on one half of the field, make sure your receivers are ready to block, and then get a guy going over the middle with plenty of room. You have now set up a downfield screen pass and all the guy has to do is find the place with the most green space.
