So sad to lose Carrie Fisher

I adored her and not because she was cute and sexy in the Star Wars Movies. She was funny, insightful and smart. She was a woman whose contributions grew as her beauty faded. May the Force remain with her.

Behind her beauty and delicate countenance was a fiercely strong woman who battled back at whatever life threw at her. After all these years, I'm still bedazzled by her beauty transmitted through flickering hologram. RIP Princess Leia. . .[IMG]

I remember being surprised by how funny she was when I saw Wishful Drinking some years ago. RIP.

Very sad... I had a second crack at Star Wars because my son loves it so much. He knows all the characters from all seven movies. It's been great to watch them all over again with him.

I liked how she said this to Han Solo:

    "Why you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy looking nerf-herder!"

That's when he fell in love! Ha... She was good at acting bemused/shocked at Solo's advances...

She had me at "I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board."

    And now her mom

This wasn't her screen debut, but this is when 18 year-old Debbie Reynolds became a star.

    Carrie

Only my spirit knows how long
It is not a question of time
For the time around the sun is not how we love
It is not time that measures sadness
It is only that it is
How can something like this feeling need a body?
I only know how it shakes when you are not around
    Chilled by the air
    It cannot change the season
    Parched by the sun
    It cannot make it rain
    Hurt by pain
    It cannot make it stop
    No, it cannot
It can only live with the things it cannot control
But wherever I may wander it follows
    Or does it lead?
How can I know if I cannot hold it in my hands
Can you tell me my friend now that you're gone?

I liked Carrie Fisher in "The Blues Brothers" and "When Harry Met Sally" more than in "Star Wars".

Can't say I liked her; I never met her. I did think she was pretty decent as an actress in a couple of supporting roles.

I note with interest that her autopsy revealed heroin, coke and ecstasy in her bloodstream at the time of death. A number of my criminal clients are detected as using those and they get to go to prison or rehab and community supervision. She was a celebrity and got a free ride. Hope it was worth it.
