Horns seems to have done well with their "portal poaching" filling important needs at TE, WR and K......but I'm wondering about the quality of the DL's they signed. Brevard's resume is solid, but the other three seem to be lacking for players that need to have an immediate impact. Anyone share the same concern regarding the DL's? I would assume we are finished signing DL's for this poaching period.
Have to agree on the DL comment but Sark has been solid in every phase of this so far so have to trust him. We didnt get a lot from the ones who came in last year but hoping for more this time. You have to have a solid dl rotation to make this work in todays game. We have the horses, just need them to all excel!!!Horns seems to have done well with their "portal poaching" filling important needs at TE, WR and K......but I'm wondering about the quality of the DL's they signed. Norton, Savea and Lole were brought in as role players in the DT rotation. They were more than adequate in their roles. Savea was bothered by a leg injury that slowed him down.Have to agree on the DL comment but Sark has been solid in every phase of this so far so have to trust him. Doh !! Guess not.
I expect (hope) we will see some sanity restored soon via regulation. In the meantime, Texas is as well-positioned as any university can be with money, coaching, tradition, geography, culture, academics.it seems the only way to win is to shower them with money
Let the malcontents go. Addition by subtraction. It was probably about money and unlike Tennessee, OU blinked. Maybe he didn't miss practice.
God I hate this stuff. Our loyalty to the school will be tested more than ever because it will be harder to win (Was Tom Herman a prophet?). To be truly successful, you must master the art of managing these players, their families and agents. But we will lose valuable players and have holes in the line-up. Hopefully, all our rivals will also have holes. So it will settle in with flawed line-ups, especially if the injury bug hits.
It's not something that should reflect on the team itself as a whole. It is what it is. In the end, it's potluck and it seems the only way to win is to shower them with money, not unlike the Dodgers in baseball. But there is a limit right? So we will be disappointed in the roster churn and one team, will somehow emerge and win it all. Hopefully it will be us.
It's tough. I look at this like home sales. The higher one sale is, the more yours is worth. Or arbitration in the MLB. It compounds on itself. This is pro football without contracts. They need to clean it up.Let the malcontents go. Addition by subtraction.
Juan Davis did last year, worked out great.Needless to say I’m always thrilled when Sark makes a good move but there is a part of me that feels a great deal of empathy for any of our players that have spent years working for a chance to start to be knocked down by a portal professional.
And btw, although Sark has said you portal you’re gone from Texas but wasn’t there a player a few years back that went then came back?
Yes, but I am thrilled that Sark is running a meritocracy. As a fan, I always want us to field the best team, so long as the team is not a bunch of outlaws. Besides, getting more depth (and some cases- better talent) should keep everyone dialed in and inspired to grind and not coast.Needless to say I’m always thrilled when Sark makes a good move but there is a part of me that feels a great deal of empathy for any of our players that have spent years working for a chance to start to be knocked down by a portal professional.

Goodness, what are we gonna do ? have
the bulldozer package that has seven defensive tackles on the field.
