It's what the Chinese bat-soup virus should have been called, if we'd followed the exact same pattern as:

    German measles
    Ebola
    West Nile Virus
    Ross River Fever
    Omsk Hemorrhagic Fever
    La Crosse Encephalitis
    Spanish Flu
    Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
    Lyme Disease
    Middle East Respiratory Syndrome

Or for that matter, the "UK" and "South African" variants of the Wuhan Virus.

Difference was, none of the above made the Chinese government look bad, so through their media flunkies ("be a shame if we didn't allow your latest movie to play in China" they told them), they had the name changed to COVID - a pretty technical term for the common name of a disease.

Which is like saying: "Pass me the sodium chloride, and I'd like some lemon in my dihydrogen monoxide".

    :hookem: thank you
I was ALL in for Herman.
I don't remember being this impressed with outlook and control of the process of getting the team ready.
Sark is comfortable with the way the team is buying in. I would guess the team feels that too.

Sark just impresses to the max with his "I got this" demeanor. He exudes confidence but mixed with humility and maturity. Like John Wayne against the odds. And focused. He's got direction and a plan.

I like his hands on approach. Like a general who is on the battlefield with his troops. This is leadership which will rub off onto the players. I guess I have swallowed the hook line and sinker with Sark. Oh well i'm fine with it especially if it lasts ten plus years. I know, its still very early in the relationship.

Can the team get the one and done J&J vaccine? Seems like you could do it today.

I’m surprised you are pushing for that. Why do they need to be vaccinated?

Someone gets vaccinated. Said person is protected. Same person gets tested because of stupid protocols. That person can still pass it along with no symptoms.

Stop all the ridiculous testing of healthy people.

    HIC,

Last Thursday night about 850, my right rear passenger window on my truck was shot out in HEB's parking lot. HPD is do helpful. I was instructed to go to a substation, which has been closed, from there to another substation where they test my temperature THREE times. Two were ok, but one was 99.? I can't go in. I have had both my shots, have my shot card, but NOPE. Have to file over the phone, except they don't take reports over the phone. That circle jerk took three hours, but met a nice HPD officer, who is a season ticket holder.

If I have "had my shots", why am I being tested? It's 85 degrees outside, I'm driving a black truck with a black leather interior, and wearing a black beaver felt hat, standing in the sun waiting for someone to come to the front door and let me in.

Maybe because I didn't get my shots at one of the mayor's "preferred locations".

Same thing happened to my wife on the temperature aspect. She got to Dr office early and sat in the hot car for awhile hence temp was high. Had to sit almost 25 minutes before they cleared her. Told her to put head in front of AC vent for a few minutes next time.

They should stop them anyway. Thee guys are healthy. Those choosing to work in that business should decide for themselves.

    1. Vaccinated persons shouldn’t be tested.
    2. Asymptomatic infection is mostly a myth even if unvaccinated. Happened in very small percentage of cases. Myth was promulgated to protect the working class who were transmitting covid by working while sick. Officials didn’t want those folks to be stigmatized. If vaccinated, asymptomatic infection is nearly zero.
