Starting forward Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda enters NCAA's transfer portal

This one hurts. She would be a force next year. Loved the way she came on so strong at the end of this season. Shoot.

Two steps forward one step back. Had some good moments but plenty of hmm moments as well.

Dont think she would be a force next year but one would hope as a senior all facets of her game would be improved.

She got better each season. She average 9 points a game and shot nearly 60% during the NCAA tournament.
So yes - I had high hopes for her next season and think she would have been a force for this team - especially coming off the bench.

Got to agree with you. Jak had some nice games, but she never averaged 9.0 points and saying she'd be a force would be a stretch. She definitely would have been an asset for next year, but after getting a taste at starting, it appears she wasn't ready to go back to the bench. If she's looking for some type of pro career, she definitely needs to find a school that will let her start.

Thanks coach. I’m sure she appreciates your

Please alert the NCAA that their stats around wrong.

Bummer! She had pros and cons, but I liked her hustle. Surprised it would be her senior, but then again I should have learned from Gaston's departure.

I think k she was one of the reasons we were in final 4. I think we are going to miss her a lot unless we find a player with her skills in the portal. And at this time , it does not look like that will happen.

I still believe Justice is our future at the 4. Should not be a problem if she makes the right comittments this summer.

I really like Jak and she has been a valuable member of our program, especially halfway through this season when she became a starter by default due to the loss of Amo and Carlton's steep learning curve. She stepped right in with no fear.

There were a couple of games where Jak really saved us, but I'm pretty sure her role as a reserve was going to continue with a healthy Amo (assumption) and another off-season for Carlton... not to mention possibly adding someone with the skill set of Judd. I can't blame her for wanting to go somewhere and be a full-time starter. Again, wishing her all the best.

Bummed about Jak leaving. She wasn't as consistent in her play as we would've liked but she had real potential and was a difference maker in a few games. Best of luck to her

They are all (men and women) mercenaries. No loyalty. It's their time to cash in and I especially understand the women shopping around because they don't exactly get rich in the WNBA like the men do in the NBA.

All that interest from so many different schools and Vic let her go? Something seems off with that?
Better question is...
Which of those programs is going to afford her a full-time starting role and the playing time she's looking for? Many of those shown will not.

1. Kinda weird to see her pictures with Texas airbrushed out
2. Kinda unusual for a player in the portal to list those schools who have reached out to you. Like generating a race for her services.

Racer, I was thinking the same thing. What's the point? Let me know when you get to your final 5 visits. My hunch, she wants those schools to compete for her commitment with NIL money. Perhaps she wanted NIL money that Texas wasn't willing to give.

Best wishes to her. I love her size and length.

This isn’t all that surprising to me, one because if we recruited her, she’s talented. And if we see it, other programs will see it too. I hope she stays within the conference and we get a chance to settle it on the court. I love me a good story line

But there’s an underlying trend I’ve noticed with how VS coaches. Every year there’s one or two players that he rides REALLY REALLY hard, not because he dislikes them but because he see’s an incredible potential that he wants to pull out them. An overwhelming majority of these players rise to the occasion, but some do choose to transfer and we’ll just have to live with it when it comes. This year it was Jak and Justice, last year it was also Jak. That probably takes a toll after a while. In years past it has been Shae Hollie, Celeste Taylor, Joanne Allen-Taylor and even further back into his MSU days with players like Chloe Bibby and even his own daughter. The net of those stories become good ones

Being positive Vanderbilt, Florida, NC state, SDSU, Arizona State, Alabama, Fairfield & Cal should make the hardest pushes but what do I know!

SDSU- close to home they’re good be better w/her
Fairfield- she would easily be a POY candidate in that league
NC State- he likes G/F at the four she could slip into Hayes role
Alabama- she would get all the shots she can hold but they not gonna be that good
Cal- they lowkey gonna be good she would add from they portal haul and she starts here as well
Vandy- is the best fit IMO they could move Pierre to the 3 or interchange or she be 6th W type of role Vandy is a good move
Florida- is the runner up for what makes sense she would instantly slide at the 4 but will they be better than last year!
Arizona State- fits her style of play new coach might be the move

She has options

She is graduating this month with a degree in psychology and a minor in some sort of medical and health studies - one of many programs that didn't exist back in my day. Maybe she wants to be somewhere for academic reasons ...

Hate to see her go but understand desire to be paid and play. Guessing NIL will be much better elsewhere but her likelihood to get deep in the NCAA's will drop unless its a few chosen schools. Wish her nothing but the best.

I can't swear to it, and don't take my word for it, but once Vic said about Jak (as he was going down the list praising his players, "And she's a really great mom"

Hunh?

Did I hear him right? Google didn't give me any supporting information to support that assumption.
