just more hope and change. you have to go to the AFL CIO to find this information because Obama has yet to put up that handy web site he promised us where we could see where all that stumulus money is going. I am sure he is working on it though just give him time. Meanwhile we just gave 84% of the 1.05 Billion designated for ahem "green power jobs" to foreign companies.

Is there a way to stop this?

Before you guys get hysterical- read about what this is from a non-partisan website. The grants they are referring to are investment tax grants that ANY firm can get if they invest in renewable energy in the US. Many of the firms mentioned are US based entities with foreign owners/headquarters- similar to Nissan and Toyota having US manufacturing but Japanese HQ.

The projects they erected would not have happened, or less likely to have happened, without the tax grants. These are not free monies to companies- but are instead 30% upfront capital expense rebates offered for solar and wind projects. Thus- for every dollar given, the firm spent more than 2 to erect a clean energy project, and at the same time created American jobs. The foreign jobs they refer to existed well before these projects were erected.

If you don't like this situation, encourage the US companies in the sector like GE and First Solar to get on the ball.

Maybe the reason US companies are not into these projects is because they do not make money. How are those windmill generated electricity stations doing in Minnesota right now? Oh yeah they are all frozen and cannot produce anything. Some of you will believe and or accept and cover up any wholesale transfer of our money to any project Obama and his cronies deem necessary even if it has nothing to do with the stated goal of the project which in this case was SUPPOSED TO BE STIMULATE THE US ECONOMY WITH SHOVEL READY JOBS. He also promised to let us know about all these projects, and how every dollar was spent. However, there is still no site, and they no longer even announce these projects. Since this one went over so well they have spent another billion on the same type projects, and again over 75% went to foreign companies. I bet Algore is doing really well off this. He won't have any trouble paying his energy bills for sure. This is nothing but wholesale waste of our tax dollars.

I posted the link to this from the non partisan site known as the AFL_CIO. you know that evil obama hating group.

I guess driving anywhere west of IH 35 or out on IH 10 or 20 to see shovel ready, profitable wind in action is too much for you.

Maybe they are profitable, and maybe GE Wind is running a third shift right now at facilities in Tehachapi, CA to produce enough turbines. Maybe First Solar is expanding production facilities right now. Maybe wind can work well in freezing temps- albeit serviced by personnel much like any generating facility has.

Maybe you just want more reasons to criticize BHO where there are none. If you want to- criticize his health plan ideas or the TARP- but to spew out incorrect information on energy projects kind of exposes your MO.

Al Gore does not make a dime off of this- but always good to see a little extra paranoia dropped into every comment.

Well if all that is true maybe he shouldn't be giving away a billion of out dollars to foreign companies via a stimulus package supposedly to produce jobs in this country, and perhaps maybe your example of GE not doing enough was not at all true either if they are running full capacity.

wait a second 911.... isn't giving tax breaks to encourage investment a standard GOP principle.

i realize many of these companies are headquartered outside the US..... as we now live in a global economy, but they are investing for the right to have these tax breaks right?

Either people didn't read the link or they think by setting up strawmen they can deflect the point of the AFL-CIO link you provided OR they forgot what Obama promised stimulus was to accomplish.
Hint it was not to send billions and billions to foreign companies
