Tom Brady & Bill Belichick have lost Super Bowls before and they will again today. Philadelphia wants this one badly and I think it’s their time. Call it Karma, momentum or something. They lose their franchise QB, their best LB, you name it, and nothing has slowed the Philly train. Further, the Nick Foles angle is pretty compelling. I’ll go out on a limb and say that the Eagles make Brady look old today: Eagles 37 Patriots 17
Unless the Eagles have a 40 point lead I wouldn’t bet against the Pats. Philly has to be really good in the second half.
IF Philly has the lead they have to FINISH - CLOSE THE DEAL! NE is the best at coming back late to win games.
Wow. Sam Ehlinger tweeted this video of the Nick Foles TD reception — when Foles was QB at Westlake! Just like he did it tonight in the Super Bowl.
I saw the Westlake-Southlake Carroll championship down in the Alamodome when Foles was the QB. It was the famous game where Riley Dodge threw up just before the snap, caught the snap, then threw a touchdown pass. I was sitting around the 25 yard line and it happened right in front of me. Tre Newton also busted a long touchdown run and his Dad, Nate was blowing up on the sideline.
Dez Bryant was a runner on that play against Green Bay four years ago and they called it an incomplete pass. He took THREE CLEAR STEPS and then made a football move.
I heard about this stupid rule. Gosh, clearly ball was caught and then taken across the plane. Why are the announcers saying otherwise?
If the ball can hit your hands at the 5.5 yard line and stay in them until the end zone, it's a catch.
Great game. I'm happy for Nick Foles and the Eagles. They have a great story. Winning a Super Bowl (against the Pats) with a backup QB isn't easy.
