Was looking grim when we were down 7 - 2 but TEXAS FOUGHT BACK!!! Very proud of the team and this win.
Fun fact: Texas has never lost a game two of a super regional. I was going to post that this morning but didn’t want to jinx it. Now 12-0 in game two’s.
And our bats heated up indeed!!!! Amazing batting lineup on display today. The bottom half, with Messinger and Campbell, shined bright when it counted.
there have been a lot of people that have been down on this team. They do still have another game to win and it is up to our bullpen to win it but I’ll never give up on them till they are out.
Yeah, I’m wondering too. Apparently I’m behind and looked like a complete fool when I was asking for stevens and Harrison, not knowing they had already pitched in the game.
I suspect that the pitching in game three tomorrow looks like game three last week and Sthele starts with everyone available as necessary. Don’t sleep on Tristan either.
Not to be flippant, but it probably doesn’t matter because each pitcher will go 1, 2, or at most 3 innings. Fresh arms: Southard LBJ Sthele Morehouse Nixon Cobb Stewart Blair Seen innings in Supers, but good for an inning or two: Hansen Harrison Olivarez Tristan (maybe) Gordon (maybe) Don’t worry too much. ECU has the same problem.
Dont feel bad, I posted something similar incorrect during one of the Austin Regional games... ooops.
Olivarez and Harrison I trust for a bit, even stehly, hansen and stevens to close for the win. I’ve seen nixon throw and I swear he is a ways off. I really do not want to see him the rest of the year. I want to see him come back next year, ready to go.
I really think our lineup will score a lot of runs tomorrow. We got some momentum today and their pitching staff is depleted. Our lineup is maybe the best in the country.
That kind of hard fought gritty win today should really fire up the Horns, that they can and should go out Sunday and kick ***!
I’m also good on Southard (check out his stats) and LBJ (also good stats). For both, the question is: will they be good for two full innings? 3?
Boy am I ever gruntled to find out we won! We went to Jacksonville for the tomato festival, saw on a screen that we were down 6 to 2 I think in ECUs half of the 6th. Was resigned to losing the game and series. Had to be a huge comeback! Get the W tomorrow and it's back to our home away from home (cws, omaha)
Well, Game 2 was a lot more exciting than I would have liked - but it goes into the column as a W. Not the prettiest W ever, but nonetheless a much-needed W. Sets the stage for Game 3 tomorrow, with both pitching staffs worn out. I don't care if it's a high-scoring game - as long as the Longhorns wind up with the higher score.
As far as an exciting game to watch, it was hard to beat today's action. But... The Bottom Line: I don't care if it's a pitchers' duel, or a slug fest, I just want the W.
Thanks I know I could have looked it up But we depend on you to know all things Horn baseball and you never disappoint George Whichever it was it worked. Be prepared to repeat tomorrow.
I say go with Clemens...among the baddest of all badazzez to ever grace the 40 Acres. And maybe bring in Huston Street to close.
