Great pick-up, but what happens if he is drafted in the early rounds by his favorite MLB team? That is the problem with getting excited by baseball recruiting.
Agreed about tempering excitement in baseball recruiting. One good thing is he's an outfielder and unless all world, HS outfielders aren't as heavily drafted as other positions. I can't find his stats but winning 2015 District offensive MVP is a relatively mild honor compared to state and national awards. He was also 2nd team all-district in 2014. Sounds like a good player, but one who'll likely escape the draft clutches of the bigs. HS positions taken in the first 5 rounds (2016): 3 Catchers 9 Outfielders 15 Infielders 27 Pitchers Only 10 HS OF's were taken in the first 12 rounds. At least his chances of landing on campus are much higher than a stud HS pitcher. I sure hope so as he's 6'3, 185, has a live bat, and was the area leader in stolen bases.
